It's very nice to see the bison coming back to Europe. They even used to be in Finland! Now as far as I know they are only found in Poland, Belarus and Romania, but I hope they will one day be widespread all over Europe again.

They can also be found in 4 or 5 locations in The Netherlands. This country is very wildlife conscious.

There's over a Hundred of them in Sweden, who knows maybe they'll reach Finland someday (There are small populations all over Europe From Russia up to Spain).

You must have a wonderful eye for settings and color. A great camera helps too. I love bison and seeing the minor differences in the European line. I’m near Yellowstone Montana and see our big boys a lot. It seems yours are redder than ours. Wonderfully produced!

It was such a fluke of fate that the Wisent did not become extinct. Hopefully one day the Caucasian Wisent can be resurrected.

As far as I can remember the Caucasian bison survived in the wild up to 1927. Some captive animals until more recent times but those that were released were shot by poachers. The area is too politically unstable & poor.

There are many deffrents between american bison and Europe bison in fram.

even the horn set is very different, and the calves in N. America look much more primitive, but the Euro. adults look much more like the ancient cave paintings at Lesque, France and other caves.

@@sanarroyos5501 They're theoretically a hybrid between the late ice age mammal, the Steppe bison, who's the ancestor of both extant bison species, and the Aurochs, the also theorized ancestor of modern day eurasian cattle. There have been few, if any cross breeds throughout history, thus why the animal itself is very inbred, and prone to diseases.
