2:35 the reason why the zombies are jumping is cuz in terraria when you fall off the platforms enemies will fall with except slimes so the reason this happened simply was that you were on lower layer than the work benchs which made the zombies fall off the platform (work bench) and due to their ai they jumped all the way through so the solution is just not to dig down

Tip: You can use the left mouse button to place blocks. Just open your inventory with the escape key located at the top-left of your keyboard, and then drag your mouse across a solid surface to move your mouse cursor to a block of your choice (I prefer dirt!) and press the left mouse button to pick that block. Then just move your mouse cursor to a spot within a few blocks of your character that is adjacent to another surface (Such as another block or a background tile!) and press the left mouse button again to place a block there. The reason you died at the beginning was because the zombies followed your character while you were escaping the demon eye. You went down and so did the zombies meaning they could jump up to the next platform which rendered your trap useless. Good content though.

If you ever decide to do this again then try hoiking, if you've never heard of it it's basically making a one way door with glitches, where you make a wall of blocks at least 3 blocks tall, line it with platforms then hammer them once, and if you hold down you go through it one way, and projectiles can only go through it one way too. You will need to throw a dirt bomb and mine out the wall though

The reason zombies jump from the tables is: If you put platforms (crafting table counts as one), enemies will only go under it if you are in a lower level than them, meaning that they will jump if you are in a higher level and they will drop if you are on a lower level, zombies jumped from the crafting tables cause you got under their level, with this info, you can make your base on the ground and put wholes on the side of your base, if you are always in lower level, they will fall in the holes

If you are lower , the zombies "press down" and go through platforms, it's how i get rid of rhem in boss battles: big platform +10 blocks in rhe air, if zombie comes, just phase down and hook back, they jump down, and then unload.

I could see mediumcore if you find losing progress constantly a challenge more than an annoyance but I do think losing everything youve built and worked for instantly at any time is insane, especially if you actually make it anywhere and die to a boss. I think the best thing to do for surviving the first nigth is to go to a floating island using the platforms, if you are lucky and use a small size world, harpies prob wont have time to spawn and kill you before you get to the island (Also i think fishing on sky islands will also give you all the loot you could get from them, making safer to get a lucky horsehoe for not dying from fall dmg and getting a starfury and being able to kill enemies from inside the base ez)

This is insanity Edit: i'm actually gonna try this (i play on mobile) on legendary mode, just bc (ill post edits here on how it will go) Alr i've come to some issues, i would love to play with 5x spawnrates but that's knly possible in journey mode, so i'll be holding a poll in the comments for the 2 choices: 1: play yourney mode and only use pickaxe, axe and sword and trash the rest, play on 10x spawnrates, disable evil spread, + legendary mode difficulty 2: play normal world on legendary mode without the 10x spawnrate challenge The disable spread does practically nothing, it just saves a bit of time bc i wouldnt have to carpet bomb... Next edit: After playing a bit i found an amazing strategy that made night 1 and beyond very consistable, + safe wood farm
