@@shellyhudson1631 YES, she was the best! And she did try to protect Anissa! That’s when I saw how brave Alba was, because she knew saving Annisa could make Anna upset. But Anissa had Aron as backup. And I liked how Alba and Tobias worked together when Annisa was ready to get away from Aron. They played very closed and surrounded Aron, and he would get so confused and involved with them, and Anissa would escape. So Tobias and Alba were successful in their teamwork, and smart in getting Anissa released.

She didn't act like all the others even Anna's other babies. She was very smart and selfless which you Never see in monkeys. I guess they do have to be greedy to survive but as humans we expect them to act like us when it comes to babies and feeding them before we eat. Well! How nice of you to say! Until now, I didn't know that a good mother is the one who beats and scratches her child when the baby asks for food. Who would have thought that a good mother would leave such a small baby to starve. Mom eats, drinks, is fat and can give big slaps. She is a real good mother, because if she does not give milk, she forces the baby to go in search of food. What a great idea! The baby will finally be independent. The baby is hungry and thirsty and goes in search of food. After a week, she will either starve to death, become dehydrated, or be killed by the males. This is smart, a good mother can now rest and eat undisturbed. The baby won't bother you anymore.....Do you still think this is the good mother????

Mothers make milk with different composition for boys and girls with girls getting a less nutritous milk but more volume so girls nurse longer and more frequently. Some researchers think this is because males need to devlop independence faster and females need to develop a closer bond with their mothers which is helpful since females stay with their mothers throughout their lives. Anna can be very caring, extremely protective and feeds her infants well but not letting Alba cling at this age is not the norm and these infants are born with a strong need to cling so on that she is not providing the infant with that security.

These monkeys are wild animals. They better learn something in the first two weeks of life. This isn’t a zoo or a monkey preservation area. Don’t they cull them every year or so to thin out the monkey population there. I think they do….they also need a sterilization program because some of those females have spawned way too many of those things. I think Anna has one or two each year. That’s ridiculous and what for? The little ones don’t learn how to forage….they learn how to sit around all day waiting for humans to feed them or they try to live permanently on their mothers breast nipple until their mother has to beat them senseless. Another ridiculous aspect of these animals lives. They need to suck milk all day so they can get all the nutrients they’ll need to be able to sit around all day waiting for people to feed them or to harass their mother all day for milk. You need a lot of nutrients in your body to be able to do those three things…..sit around all day…..beg humans for food …..stare at your mother for hours begging for milk….such a rough life.

No, Anna is treating a mild mannered baby horribly! When Dee Dee emerges down the road you will know why. As for Janet she is a brat man helped to create. Mom is terrified she will die so she keeps her under her 24/7 which would have never happened had man left them alone. Aggressive mistreat this early will scar, confuse and harm this little one. She needs to be held, fed and made to feel safe so she can learn and grow mentally and physically. Mom is attacking her for just looking at her or touching her. If you'll notice that Anna hasn't really gotten as big as the other females, especially the higher ranking ones, in some of the other troops. THAT is because Anna is one if the few monkeys that doesn't exist SOLELY on the sugary foods that the tourists are always handing out. Even more rare, Anna is ALSO one of the very few monkeys that can forage for themselves. She is in better shape because her diet more closely resembles a forest-dwelling long tailed macaque. Anna is a very unique female macaque, and a personal favorite of mine, and I don't really like monkeys all that much. I find them interesting, but I think the best thing humans can do for these animals is to stay away from them. I know that's easier said than done, in a lot of cases, too.

At first , I hated her for her cruelty but someone kinda explained it to me that in the "monkey world" , they're always foraging for food, and having milk isn't a given that's one of Anna's reason's for toughing them up. I personally think it didn't need to be that EXTREME, but the way it was explained made sense. Alba, and Anissa are higher ranks and therefore, they have to be examples of being better and tougher. I wish I could explain it the way she explained it to me, but as she said, we're looking at it from a human being's perspective. I thought, yep.
