I was there 2 years ago for 13 days, me and 3 other friends camped in tents 9 of the 13 nights. We rented a SUV on Turo for 2,400, and then did a lot of stuff, 3 nights in Denali, overnight drive to Artic Circle, awesome day riding ATV's to a glacier, halibut fishing and 2 nights in Homer Spit and several days hiking in between. The most expensive thing was paying to get our fish back to the states, roughly $28 a pound. Not counting my airfare to get there but including all the fun cost me about 200.00 a day, worth every penny!!!!! Enjoying the videos!!!!

Welcome to Alaska! My wife and I moved Anchorage 2 years ago from Florida and love it. We pulled our fifth wheel here from Tampa. We like to camp a lot and realized early on that most of the state, federal and city campsites were for rigs under 35ft. So we sold our beautiful rig and got something a little smaller. Since then, no issues finding cheap sites and boon-docking. I hope you have a wonderful time here!

Wildlife isn't lurking around every corner. You have to hike away from the roads to see the animals. Chatting with locals helps whenever you travel to explore the area and get the deets.

Pichole Creek Campground in Glacier View is a good one for cheap. Great view of Matanuska Galcier and close to zip lines and hiking trails. Talkeetna is another good watering hole. If you do go up to Denali, check out Cheena Hot Springs just north of Fairbanks

You guys are bringing back the best memories of my life. I was stationed at Ft Richardson 81-83 and 85-89. Spent a lot a time in the outdoors on my off time. You guys should be more careful though. Black Bear especially. You should have at least bear spray and a air horn on your person at all times when in the outdoors. If a bear is close enough to spray that is too close! You probably noticed a lot of locals are most likely packing. Be careful and your dogs.

If you're near Valdez the day I write this, go immediately to the fish hatchery and you'll see loads of salmon. Go during high tide and you'll also see many seals. It's free and awesome. They come to the hatchery the last week of July thru mid-August.

Another way to ward off bears is to tie little bells to your shoestrings. The way to tell if it’s dog doo or bear, is that beat poop has tiny bells in it and smells like bear spray!

You should have talked to a local to find out when Salmon runs are. There are 5 different types of west coast Salmon and they enter the rivers and streams at different times of years to spawn. Salmon live on a 3 to 4 year cycle. When they hatch they head for the 3 to 4 years, then they return to the river they born in to spawn a new batch of eggs and then go off to die.

You guys don't know this, but I've been following some of your videos, and ALL of the Alaska videos. I have to say, I'm a little envious of you guys. We've been RVing for at least 40 years, but it's just the last 5 that we have gotten more serious. Now we are looking at retirement, and that will mean a change for us. We are going to sell what we have now, and get something small to call home, but do MUCH more traveling. We have a 36" ft 5th wheel that we LOVE. Alaska is HIGH on our list. Keep having fun RVing, and THANKS for your videos. Who knows....we just might cross paths south of our border in the winter months.

We were just ahead of you in our AK adventures. We saw sheep, bears, goats, a lynx, eagles, moose, wild horses, cranes, fox eyc. to the point we kept a daily tally. The most abundant were mosquitos 🦟 , however. We live in Montana and were amazed at the roadside animals. Disapointed in lack of seafood. Expected it to be more like WA/OR seafare I guess.

Several years ago we were in Yellowstone staying at their expensive rv park and decided we wanted to take the morning photography tour. It was an early start - 6:00 A.M. - but well worth it. We saw a mother bear (grizzly bear not black bear) and her cubs, mule deer marmots, great blue heron and more. We were very pleased with the tour and felt it was worth the price.

Glad you saw some wildlife. If you see a bear with cubs you better be careful! It wouldn't take much to make her upset. Be careful what you wish for. And moose are said to be one of the most dangerous animals. All this coming from a person who saw a bear and her cubs closer than 100 yards but thankfully we were downwind and stayed quiet, and moose came out of the woods and ran right past us exciting/terrifying fortunately they didn't react to us and kept going. And wow as I am writing this I keep seeing your thumbs up and # of views increasing every few seconds! So you're doing something right. You might have better luck later in July rather than earlier - not sure what date the video is. We say Samon. The L is silent. Don't ask us to make sense of that! Where there's salmon there could be bears. And you are correct, 30 mph. Your likes just went up by 65 after mine. Fun video y'all.

Loved the video. One thing that the RV rental places in Alaska all rent Class C and under 29’ to meet the State Park and other non-paid campgrounds requirements and to be able to fit in most of Alaska. If you want to see Salmon go where you see people fishing. Looking forward to the rest of your adventures. Been up here 30+ years and have only seen one bear. That one sighting was a black bear running across the Glenn Highway in Eagle River. Be careful of the Moose. They have killed more folks than bears in the State.

Salmon travel upstream to spawn. Look for them in slow pools. They will jump to swim up the rapids. If you see bears waiting for them to jump they are there. Usually late spring. By the looks of things and how long it stays daylight, you have missed them

Keep the bear spray on your chest (hang it). If a bear charges, you will not have time to pull the bear spray out of your pocket or backpack. The bear would be on you in a split second
