It always boils down to money. I keep hearing billionaires saying safe the earth. Spend some of your fortunes and stop the palm oil plantations and hunting of all the apes. There’s no money in that for them so it’s left up to the rest to do the work and give what they can. Keep preaching to us, we will do the real work. It is awful what has been done to all of the great apes in the past century.

This is the first time I heard about Bonobo's. I watch a rescue on KZbin called Monkey World. I don't know if they will ever get any at the rescue since they are breeding other monkeys like Orangutans, Wooley Monkeys and so on. I live in the United States and have watch until season 6 until they share the other 15 seasons. I was on there channel and that's when I was suggested the Lola ye Bonobo's channel and the Bonobo's Conservation. Since you had the Cincinnati zoo in the documentary, I'm going to try to go there. Since documentary is from 14 years ago, I wonder if there are places closer to Utah that's not 2 or 3 days away. Thank you for doing this documentary. I hate that any wild animal needs to have the kind of help from rescue groups, conservationists, zoo's and so on. I can understand why people kills certain animals for food like cows, chickens and animals like that but only in a humane way and not is places that torture animals through genetics and steroids. When it comes to those who live in certain countries and places like the Congo or where food is limited, I don't know if I kind of understand or not. I will never understand why they kill these beautiful Bonobo's. It seems like there are so many villagers and people that understand how wrong it is to kill these nearly extent animals that others that are killing the adults for food and sell the babies are wrong to do that. I don't know very much about the people from there. The only things I know about Africa first hand is because of our church having a missionary family The Fowlers that's with CMFI (Missionary Fellowship International). They serve in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region but I don't think it's near the Congo since it looks more like dry and like a desert. I sent them a private message on Facebook to see how far they are from the Congo and if they have been there before. Alison said they are about 250 miles from the Congo. Anyhow, I will never understand the mind of anyone who thinks OK kill any animals like the apes, monkey's and so many more. I'm curious if the government, rescue groups and other places that are doing anything about teaching the people about the reality, long term consequences of killing the Bonobo's since they are killing them. Eventually there won't beany left which is because of them. I also wonder if these groups have help them with getting food and teaching them ways to garden and find other meat sources without murdering the Bonobo's.

I have to question what we know or what we are being told by these "experts", as commented below new evidence has come out about Bonobos. You can find a video here of a female eating her young. Who is doing the research? How much and how often are they actually studying them in the wild?
@megaroo61106 жыл бұрын
Did you even listen to what they said in that BBC video. It was the only time that had ever been seen in this closely studied species. The animal was probably starving because its habitat and food sources are being destroyed by the human garbage that inhabits the DRC. This was a one off observation and not normal behavior. One animal doing something does not represent the normal behavior of the entire species. There are human canibals, does that mean that canibalism is a normal human behavior, no.
@loricrawford19522 жыл бұрын
Bonobos do not eat their young. They are not the least bit violent, ever. Bonobo moms, unlike orangs, gorillas and chimps do not abandon their young either. A lot of alpha males of across many animal species will eat the young of other males because it's instinctual to their survival, and it's territorial. In many ways all of this is "normal" for a wild animal. In chimp society, alpha males rule and are aggressive with females but I don't know of any instance of what we could logically consider "rape" in chimp culture. Rape is an act of violence and control , not sex. It is a distinctly human act of intentional violence and rage

Interesting to learn about Bonobos but are these "experts" saying that if humans were all bi-sexual or homosexual then peace would reign in the world? If so, then I give this video a D-. I appreciate these animals and wish them well but leave the societal commentary out of it. Additionally, these animals are obviously intelligent and there are similarities but they don't have to go to school to get educated so that they can go out and earn a living and work for bosses and face many of the pressures that humans face. Humans excel and from the beginning they have invented everything we live with and have evolved with.
@wmd404 жыл бұрын
That's not what they are saying. And obviously we put these stupid rules on ourselves. The rules of having to work the way we do. We literally do all this to ourselves. We live in a hell world that we created. And they're saying there is something to learn from them. Obviously there's big differences but Jesus Christ. They're saying this is a very beautiful and facinating society that we should try to learn from. Stop being so literal. They're not saying we should all just not work and have gay sex all day long 🙄. There is something to be said about matriarchal society. Research how the Iroquois Confederacy worked. It was one of the most complex yet peaceful societies and it was matriarchal. We're exploring ideas of how we could be better by looking to others that do it better. Not saying we should literally be exactly like them. But humans are obviously failing miserably right now and exploring what we can do to be better is important

I find this research very believable and has merit in our consideration in human society and government. However, some human females have become too egocentric, lying and backstabbing, instead of loving, peaceful, truthful, and accepting, that I feel at this time in human history, female human leadership would not benefit our society any more than male. After reading some comments, I don’t like being manipulated by falsehoods. But, in the end, to me the most important thing is to save our wildlife and nature, our forests, and natural resources.
