The tiger is the most beautiful and enigmatic of the big cats. Sadly today there may be only 10,000 tigers left in the world. Shot in India and Nepal, this is the full story of a magnificent animal at the crisis point in its history.

In my opinion I would call a tiger the king of the jungle instead of lion because is by far the largest wild big in the world as a matter of fact since they live in their natural habitat like tropical rainforests.

The english shot some tigers for sport hunting some bcos they were men eaters but by far not as many as the Indian royals that’s proven history I think Jim Corbett shot men eaters into the 1940th or so the same goes for Ken Anderson and a few more but most of those guys were already protecting indias wildlife that’s in history books government approved killing man eaters

Overall numbers went down from this period but the bengal and siberian have gone up but the indochinese tiger has dropped dramatically. Funny this was 44 years ago but you go back 44 years from this and they were at least 50000 tigers worldwide. What the hell happened in the 40s 50s 60s and 70s

Tiger, Tiger- was the first film to show the Indian Tigers power. Gotz Dieter Plage filmed this special for Survival anglia and it was an extremely ambitious project as the film hat to be done within 6months. Night filming hunt sequence hat to be done at that time with an image intensifier, although it's never been achieved since in India. Today it's still an outstanding film. Well yeah, at least two of the tigers that joined her to eat were young tigers, likely her cubs, the other is harder to tell because I couldn't get a good look but it is a third baby or also very likely one of her young that she weaned before having the babies. If food and space is plenty she won't run her young off if they happen by, especially with her cubs being older babies. This is an old video, I understand. Now days they won't leave her to suffer coming off the sedative, they give an antidote. They found that some never came out of it and died, if not. I wish they wouldn't abuse the elephants! No animal should be abused into our desires!

ABSOLUTELY WRONG! One on one a tiger would kill a lion EVERY time! They are Faster, stronger bigger more agile and keen predators. Lions require a pack and open range and still miss out a lot! That being said, there is a reason they don't live together! They aren't in competition so it's pointless and only a person with a disgusting mind would put them together! I won't respond back so don't bother arguing. I can't stand when people choose ignorance! Educate yourself and there would be no argument ergo no need for a response. Take care! Happy learning!

Your documentary makes a false statement, they said of all the cat family's the tiger takes the most readily to water that is false a jaguar hunts in and above the water swimming down deep and holding there breath from 30 seconds to one minute to catch prey underwater that is something a tiger does not do
@fearfulsymmetry1

A tiger can do that,a documentary video I watced,some months ago, shows a tiger hunting fish underwater.I don't remember the channel,but I remember the impression it made to me,to see a cat diving for more than 30 seconds.

Sorry but you are mistaken, tigers do hunt in water too, and they actually play in water and swim for cooling and enjoyment, much more than jaguars are known too. So taking to water is true, if they said hunting in water, I would agree that is more a jaguar thing but still done by tigers as well! Let's not forget how little we see their real lives and they do have idividual personalities.
