I used to be a member of the Fishing club that built and owned that hut at Reef beach. It wasn't a squatters shack as we also leased an acre of the land that surrounded it from the WA government. I spent many a cold south coast evening around that wood heater. (Great memories). We handed back the lease about 10 years ago.

I'm sure you are busy, so really appreciate the reply. I'm an Albany lad and know the country well. Sure do love going back in time, thanks to your excellent vids. I'm now 69 but still recall our night at Reef Beach. Tractor to the western end and caught bulk salmon then inside the reef at night, caught a 3 metre bronzie with my home made Rangoon cane rod matched with an Alvey 650C wooden spooled reel. Thanks for the memories Good fun for a 17 yo and good memories

It’s nice how remote you can get in Australia in just a couple of hundred miles. Hope one day to visit Perth area and rent a 4x4 with the family. Great channel
@krump743 Жыл бұрын
Make sure when u hire one u read the contract agreement carefully before signing up. Alot of them if not all of them wont allow u to drive on a beach, which is stupid considering one is hiring a 4wd. So your really only kinda restricted to gravel roads, some companies even require permission from said companies to drive on roads like the Gibb river road.

Theres plenty to see over here, it's a huge state! Hope you get the chance to see some of it with your family!

@@krump743 yes thanks for the info unfortunately there’s a lot off people that have no business been in a 4x4. I’ve spent a bunch of time over the years going to anza borrego and glamis sand dunes in eastern Southern California. We use to see people in there new 4x4 doing the most ludicrous things and hurting themselves and others. I see why the rental companies would try to keep there rigs from getting totaled. G day mate

What do you prefer about cooking on gas as aposed to the induction/air fryer? I'm on the fence about making the switch to lithium
@robertgriffiths3710 Жыл бұрын
Great question, look forward to Cam’s reply on this one. Cam did have a travel buddy for a while and he did say in one of his vidz why he forfeited it over the air fryer and also using the induction over gas for certain things but I can’t remember which video it was
@JoshSinnott97 Жыл бұрын
Me too mate. I thought now that he's tried this new induction with the better temp adjustments that I'd be worth asking him about it again The air fryers look pretty efficient too for what they are. I watched somebody else's KZbin video a while back and they apparently draw the same amps except the air fryer cooks food faster and makes things crispier
@WildTouring Жыл бұрын
I think they both have their place. Induction comes into its own for windy conditions and convenience/speed. But I just prefer cooking on gas for temperature control, and to reduce load on the batteries. Induction obviously uses a heap of power, and it doesn't matter how big your battery bank is. In fact, the bigger the battery bank, the deeper you can discharge - which means it's even harder to get the charge back in. It's not so bad in a caravan because you've got heaps of real-estate on the roof to mount solar panels. But in a car you're limited to space unless you carry multiple blankets OR your driving every day to put charge in via alternator. I get away with it driving most days between campsites, but its difficult if I'm camped up in one spot for multiple days.
@JoshSinnott97 Жыл бұрын
Cheers for the reply. A consultation with off road living is in the cards but I usually like to stay put for a day at most before driving so hopefully induction is something that will suit my needs as it'd be wicked not having to bring gas with me to camp
