Fabulous display, as a kid we played in our local wood, (aka The Shoots), there were hundreds we called them pink champion's, also " stinking onions " which now I am sure would have been wild garlic ? Ty for sharing Joel 🎉

It's heavenly isn't it? So many of our native wildflowers are overlooked and yet we know that many of our "gardener's favourites" were cultivated and bred from these originals to give us the more well known ones today. Every day I am so pleased that these forgotten wildflowers are now being appreciated by so many more people. It could well have been wild garlic, but I remember the same as a kid... coming across something and thinking "someone's growing onions in this field" and it could have been escapees from gardens many years previously of course, but could have also been a chive species. We should have your book out to you in a few days ;) Have a good day today - best wishes, Joel

@@micksmusicchannel Your channel is just as important :) It has been a hectic year, I've just got back to the hotel after visiting a client mid Wales, back to pond building early tomorrow! Thanks so much re sharing the video, I do plan to do an owl box or two, I have a few clients that do want them so it will be an ideal opportunity to film the making of one - unfortunately the only time I get to do videos lately is in other people's gardens or travelling about and stopping if I see something I think I should share. I really do appreciate your support, it makes a big difference not only to me but also to the creatures that will benefit from us all sharing how easy it is to garden/live with nature :) Take good care, best wishes to you and yours - Joel

Hi I hope you well... Help needed regarding red campion it's been really windy here and lots of red campion stems have fallen over although they still look OK... If I cut them back will they grow back and flower again? I'm going th definitely scatter more seeds in other areas as I absolutely love this plant... Thanks for your help again... @WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton

Hi there - mine have suffered this in the past, but I take a smallish stick/stake and place it in the middle of the plant carefully so as not to damage the roots and then tie them gently too. But if you want to cut any back, as long as they have not gone to seed they will start to flower again :) Well done on the Red Valerian, look out for hummingbird hawkmoths on these as they absolutely love them :) Best wishes, Joel

Hey there :) Well done on the success of the seed scattering, it clearly worked! Unfortunately, I don't think they'll take very kindly to being split - but you could dig up the individual plants carefully and replant elsewhere or into pots so there is less crowding - hope this is helpful and that you have a great weekend in the garden :) Best wishes, Joel

Boil the roots! Make laundry soap!! I was warned to be careful planting these near ponds or streams that had a fish population, the saponins can kill the fish.

Hi Laura - I'm not entirely sure but these aren't planted IN a pond but I do know that in some more exotic countries tribes have been known to place large amounts IN rivers etc to stun fish due to the saponins... I've not heard of it in the UK though :) Best wishes, Joel
