Hell yeah dude. Ive been saving up for a full kit and in the meantime just have a practice pad. Im sure you can image the the difficulty/boringness of learning this kind of music on a pad. I'd guess it's an optical illusion and it's actually farther away... if you look where he's hitting, he's hitting practically where the mic looks to be and I don't think anyone would actually have the mic so close to forceful stick hits hahah.
