The poem is a meeting in Hell between two soldiers. One soldier descends into Hell and meets the soldier who he has killed. This is shown at the end of the poem. The quote you need is 'out of battle I escaped.'

Why Wilfred Owen's poem "Strange Meeting" is considered as a good example of anti-war poetry?

The popularity of Owen today can be explained not only by his condemnation of the horrors, which remain terribly actual, but also by the irony of his premature death. His poetry shows not only his viewpoint but how humankind thinks and feels about and during war. This is further emphasised by the general historical view of WW1 which is an overwhelming feeling of futility, and that so many lives were lost for such little gain. His poetry is specifically linked to this historical event.

Thanks for that. There are many Owen sites and you will have to search a few to get one that has the answer to the ideas you are researching. Most of the Owen sites are excellent, especially the British ones.

The swiftness I think is in reference to the vision/ soldier imagery where the dead go quickly to their fates without pity. The reference to the tiger may also refer to the concept of hunting and death. Their are other interpretations but these are the basic ones to begin with.
