Thanks to both of you for organising this talk show, I really learnt a lot. It was like gisting with a friend or relative. An your advice is greatly appreciated. For me, it's like unless a get a scholarship otherwise it's a no no since I dey single. But the real truth is job demand outweighs supply, so you need a stable source of finance, to pay up, that is practicable when you have a working partner. 🎉

My own practical question is : if 20 hours multiplied 10 pounds is 200 Pounds per day, that multiplied by 4 is 800 pounds monthly. Please if max rent is 450, how is rent taking the whole 20 hours of work. Please someone help me make sense out of that

The £350 will majorly cover food/transport & other personal expenses. Max that will be left will be £200 if you are a big saver per month in reality if all things are equal & your shift don’t get cancelled for the week. Let’s assume you save £350 in 12 months you ll have 4200£. If your school fees balance is 6000-10000£ which you should pay up in 2/3 installments plan, some schools require you to finish paying within 4 months of enrollment how do you intend to finish paying it with just 4200£ that will take you a year to save if you get free food, transport, phone bills etc?

@@bukolaitalumhe the conversation wasn’t about saving up for the balance, it’s about having a life, I know it’s almost impossible to work 20 hours and save up for balance. I just think statement like …your 20 hours is going to your rent is not correct 🤷🏽‍♂️

Just so you know,your 20 hours is not even sure(especially if you work with agencies)…your shifts might be cancelled and sometimes you end up working for just 10 hours a week.I personally havnt worked for 20 hours in a week since I got to uk.I can imagine how I would be living without my partner

@@oloyindeolaseni1491 is it very correct my dear, First of all, in london (where my school is) Rent is 600-800 shared apartment.. You barely get a 20hrs shift, most shifts are 12;30mins… if you do one, it’s hard to get any 7.30mins so you may end up getting one shift that week, calculate Being paid 10pound =120 tax is taken off , you have About 100 or 99 pound, x 4times in a month …. Brooooooo see don’t just come here as a student… come as a skilled worker oh…. I haven’t stop changing niara to pounds for about a year, cos I don’t earn here… because I’m protecting 20hrs law.. and cash at hand job na Gold… uk isn’t how it’s hyped .. I cry everyday.. but it would be alright I heard after “school “… fingers crossed 😊.

Hi, I just got an unconditional offer for September intake and I'm planning to come with my fiancee. But she doesn't speak enough English. I'll scale her on 55% base on speaking, listening. My question is can she really cope as a dependent with her level of speaking English.

Yes she can cope a lot of Pakistan, Portuguese, Indian etc are all here and they can’t speak correct English too
