I agree with the comments, often our parents don't really select a gender when it comes to following a stranger however it's always pushed stronger when it comes to men. It's important to teach kids not to follow strangers of all sorts, men, women and more importantly OTHER kids. We have to remember that people also use children to bait other children.

My parents always told me to never trust a male stranger. They never even considered the possibility that a female could be a kidnapper. I remember when I was a little girl, around 6 or 7, This lady I've never met before came over to me playing in the driveway and started talking to me, asking me random questions. I remember her claiming to be new to the neighborhood and such. She was also touching my hair in a rather strange way, telling me how pretty she thought I was. My Dad saw me talking to her through the window and when I came back inside, he asked me "Is she the new neighbor? She seems pretty nice." He didn't give it another thought at all. Now, another time, this man was at the park who I started up a conversation with. He was pretty friendly and all. He was asking me if I knew his daughter and if we went to the same school, since he thought I looked familiar. Well, my dad saw him talking to me and he was outraged. He started yelling at the dude to stay away from his daughter. The guy didn't say anything and just got his own daughter and left the playground. Which was a girl that I knew in the end. So yeah, I definitely think that people have this concept that only men can be dangerous and are predatory. It's kinda systematic almost. But we do really need to let others know that anyone, regardless of gender, can be dangerous. For all I know, that woman talking to me could have been a predator and the man at the park was probably just being friendly.

Honestly that must be so heartbreaking for the parents to see. I can't even begin to imagine what those parents felt watching their kid hold hands walking away with a complete stranger. And it's not like this is uncommon, many organizations solicit the help of women/girls to help capturing children. The halo effect of beautiful women is real, even children can notice it.

Back then, I got lost at a mall and I remember just crying and walking around looking for my mom. A woman approached me, probably because it was obvious I looked lost. I immediately trusted her when she asked questions because all I wanted was someone to help me at that time. If that lady didn't have good intentions, I'd probably be a goner cuz I just followed her when she said she'd help me look for my mom. When I went for a jog in highschool this one guy drove up right next to me and asked for directions. He said thank you and asked if I wanted to be dropped off home after my jog. My dumbass got in his car. But halfway through the ride I just asked him to drop me off right then and there at a streetlight corner. And he did. I jogged the rest of the way home. No ill intentions at the end, but still not the smartest move to make. Ever. To be honest.

When i was in elementary school i had a rlly close friend, everyday we would talk to eachother while waiting for our parents or somebody to pick us up after school. One day a lady in a car pointed at me and told me my parents sent her to come get me. I was gullible enough to trust her but my friend told me that if I've never seen the lady before then i shouldn't get in the car. I didn't go and the lady kept trying to persuade me until she eventually drove away. About 10 minutes later my mom came to pick me up, i asked her about the lady and she said she never sent anybody to pick me up

Thats fucked up man, women just have this smaller appearance and softer voice that makes you feel safe. Its taking advantage of the natural instinct of a child, which is weaponizing the "motherly instinct". When stuff like this actually happens it must be so confusing for the child, and after they realize what actually is going on the amount of betrayal they'll feel would be the first trauma for them. then whatever the kidnapper had planned after would be the next. Gotta teach the kids who they should trust on an early age this should be a good lesson to anyone.
