Dare I say, watching Trent give advice to Jerry is so wholesome; Trent, who's attempting to break 85, trying to better one of his closest friends to break 100... This is amazing to watch these two on a golf course

I think having Trent in the coaching role will help his own game. He often blindly answers "yeah, okay" when people give him advice. as the student he holds on to the what to do but not the why to do it. Helping Jerry gets him in the mode of thinking through the why, then explaining it. Quality mental reps, lock it in boys!

The non stop positivity is hilarious. "i think that's perfect" ball ends up in the deep rough, blocking his next shot out by a tree. "that's fine, no drama" Jerry ends up with a 7 after jacking his wedge round the green. 3 double bogys in a row. "Yeah man you're totally fine."

Two very simple pieces of advice for Jerry to break 100: 1) On medium to long chip shots, the one and only goal is to hit the green. Put the ball it middle/back of stance at only focus on clean contact. This alone will save 5-6 strokes a round 2) When on the green, stop trying to make puts from more than 6 feet. Focus on speed more than line, this will probably save 10 strokes a round for a guy like Jerry. Focus on two putting instead of one putting, you will be surprised at how many go in.
@spectre20515 күн бұрын
It feels like on putts over 6 feet he's hitting the putt with his entire body, vs just using shoulders to rock the arms.

15-16 strokes huh?
@ryansapp739511 күн бұрын
@@joeltorpy5830 , yes. 15-16 strokes off of 105. If you go back and watch this video, count how many strokes he lost playing ping pong on the green and duffing chips. Ball striking wasn’t the main issue, it wasn’t good, but he can break 100 with his ball striking
@ThatDude_JTКүн бұрын
At 37:37, Jerry puts for par and misses and ends up about 7-8 feet from the hole, but the audio has Trent saying 'really good putt" when it clearly wasn't and then it cuts to jerry's putt from the same spot rolling 1 foot from the hole and then he putts for bogey. Should've atleast been double bogey there

Use this advice or not, completely up to you. I started playing golf in college and I was terrible. Struggled for a long time to break 100. Now, 25 years later, I’m a single digit handicap playing 6500-6600 yards. When I decided I was going to improve my game I used the thought process of five simple rules. 1. Hit whatever club off the tee that would allow me to play from the middle of the fairway. If that is driver, great. If it’s a 4 iron, do it. 2. If I miss the fairway and was in trouble, take my medicine and put the ball back into the fairway, even if that means going backwards. 3. Always play to the middle of the green. Doesn’t matter where the pin is. Play to the middle. 4. If you miss the green on your approach, don’t try to get too precise with your chip or pitch. Just get the ball on the green. 5. Try to average a 2 putt every hole. Putting is the simplest part of the game that you can work on anytime. It’s also the fastest way to cut strokes off your score. When I started playing with these rules, within 6 months, my scores went down. Broke 100 within a month. Broke 95 with 3 months. Broke 90 by the end of the first year. Last year, I shot my lowest score ever at 69. Golf is the hardest game you could ever play. Don’t get mad or down on yourself. As long as you keep in mind that you will never be great and have fun while you are playing, it will be a game you can enjoy late into your life. Also, one last thing, don’t take too much advice from too many people. The less voices you listen too while you are over your shots, the better you will be.

Good stuff fellas, coming from another high 80's scorer like myself, two things that will help Jerry, especially since you guys film everything, you will be able to see it right away. On the back swing, Jerry lifts his body up slightly, its hard to tell when you do it, but you guys will notice it, this causes his downswing to push everything right, and dub short chips. The other is putting. Line your shoulders and feet up square to your target, so that your pendulum putt path is straighter. He missed all those short less than 3 footers because he is lined up the wrong direction. Have fun out there, and yes Trent is right, golf is hard, but always fun.

this series without a coach working on Jerry's technique is half the series. Part of what makes it enjoyable is seeing real improvements in the person trying to break 100's game.

Love watching all these guys play and help each other get better every day. Counted 38 putts not counting fringe putts. I'd have JJ to try and implement the bump and run with PW around greens to help save some strokes. Gotta practice 3/10/20 ft putts before EVERY round for speed control. A few too many drops as well. 1 drop per 9 would be his ideal goal. Most of his approach shots were right of target, so start aiming left until he's hitting left. Some good shots out there to hang his hat on as well. Maybe pop that top button, crank some tunes, and have a few more cold ones to help settle down a tad!

@sirblt492310 күн бұрын
Another great ground from the kids! His biggest issue is just that he pushes his putts, & the green is where you'll add most of the extra strokes. With a blade putter, you want to swing in an arc, & even though his body is turning correctly, his arms move in a straight line at the hole the entire way. You can see that his hands always seem to finish slightly out & ahead of him. If he fixes that, you'll both be chasing 85!
@Oakburygolfapparel14 күн бұрын
Teaching Jerry to control and square the face of the putter will be the key. Several spots he tries to steer the putt and or never picked a line at all on his 3rd and fourth putts.

Jerry I can guarantee you will hit better golf shots if you do this one simple thing. Which is keep your right elbow tucked the whole entire time during the golf swing meaning keep your right elbow pinned to your rib cage during the entire swing. I know at first you will feel like you are losing power, but after practicing this a little bit, you will feel comfortable with it and you will get the power right back to where it was. Take a buddy of yours (not a yes man) but someone that will hold you accountable. To the range to hit a couple buckets over a few days time making sure you keep your right elbow tight and glued to your ribs. After getting comfortable with this come back to the breaking 100 series and I will bet you 100 of my dollars to one of your dollars that you will indeed break 100. If you’re putting well that is lol 👊 I truly hope you try this!
