Diddy is a scrum. Generally awarded when the ball is knocked or passed forward. Scrum is contested by the forwards, numbers 1 - 8. Basically contest of strength that can’t collapse or rotate 90 degrees. Ball is introduced into the middle of the 2 packs and needs to emerge at the back, generally being collected by No 8 or 9. If scrum collapses or rotates it can be rest or infringement can result in a penalty.

Injuries? Depends on what you mean by "INJURY". Everyone will come off the pitch with minor cuts, scrapes and bruises when things are done. Some might even have sprains. Actual injuries that cause you to miss playing time are actually kind of rare. Now, if you're talking about substitutions, the current Law stands at 8. They are one time subs. You cannot shuttle people on and off the pitch. When I started rugby there were NO subs for any reason. Within a couple years they allowed 2 if a doctor decided that an actual injury had occurred. Now it's 8. No injury necessary. "Oh, you're tired? OKay, have a seat." Pussies!
