I really hope this game doesn't become an Skater XL situation where the gameplay has a ton of potential but it suffers from a lack of maps and engaging anything other than the riding itself, so then modders have to pick up the slack. From what you were saying about talking with the developers it does seem like they care way more about delivering a product that will be complete and fun, which is great to hear.

We didn’t mean empty like pedestrians in cars. Empty meaning like the streets are buried of objects. There’s not enough benches and tables and random things. It looks like a giant spaced out skate park but without stuff in it.

Another thing I’d like to see is tire flex and chain movement. Not sure if thats possible or not but would be cool to see during hard landings and foot jams. I REALLY look forward to what they will add next to the game as time goes on after release!

the only concerning part for me is how bland and empty the map looks at first impression. some of the spots look really cool tho! i’ve heard that it’s not hard to port skater xl maps into this game too. (according to mash) so hopefully we’ll get mod maps sooner than later after launch

i watched the trailer already like minimum 30 times and i never had the feeling that the world is empty or stuff like that, like mash wrote earlier in the discord, he didn't want to make a GTA, its a bmx game and all i personally care about is that the bike looks cool and that the animations are good and fun spots, all this is given in bmx streets. when i want to see cars driving around i play other games. so yeah i love the map as it is and cant wait for all the upcoming modmaps. when i remember how it was with skaterXL at the beginning, like 2 or 3 awesome new mod maps everyday, such a cool time

fire vid as always Tater, Persoanlly I dont care about AI and car, for me what I wanted out of the game was a smooth, well polished physics system that allows me to do whatrever trick I want and can come up with, And it seems like you can and the fact we get that with open world mutiplayer is just awesome. No unfortunately they aren't with any games. PC will always have more access with mods because you can directly mod the game yourself on PC. On console it will be limited to approved mod maps if I had to guess due to copyright issues

Nobody is playing skate 3 today because it has NPC's. Gameplay comes first, that stuff can be added later

The map/NPC/vehicles complete the game. missing these features make the game feel like a demo. I can play pipe for about an hour on the pipe city mod map. It's fully loaded with stuff to do, but it gets so boring. Even if there were challenges, it always feels like it's missing something.

@@mikepalumbo7781 yeah don't get me wrong I think it would be awesome, and Mash Games thinks it would be awesome too! but the priority is the bike riding and making sure that's the best it can be. there is a ton of challenges in BMX Streets and stuff to unlock! if skate was a small indy game made by a small team the gameplay would have been fleshed out way before npcs. I think we will see it added but you just gotta give it some time, Mash games has one guy doing all the programming where a game like skate had huge funding and a much larger team behind it

If I had known back in January 2018 that the full game wouldn't come out until goddamn April 2024, I would have jumped out the f'ing window. It is genuinely annoying how long we have all been waiting for this game. So then to hear shit like it doesn't have basic stuff like left foot forward or a character editor is like "WHAT?!". I'm a PC gamer so a console release date doesn't concern me too much but if I was holding out hope for a PS5 or Series S/X release I wouldn't be holding my breath. "60 days" in Mash Games time is like 2 years in human time. I'm buying this game day one but I'm still annoyed about the time we've been waiting.
