Nearly every professional team sport in the United States has seen its image tarnished by owners and athletes putting money above winning - and ego above team bonding and camaraderie. This summer, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics were two teams in the eye of the storm of this quagmire. With this ESPN interview, Kyrie Irving did nothing to turn this trend around, and you get the impression he couldn’t care less. Why then should the average fan hold value in what he has to say about the “offseason drama” surrounding his trade? It sure seems the NBA point guard did everything he could to shut down, sabotage and otherwise evade the tough questions - and turn the conversation into a lovefest for his personal agenda. If that’s what he wanted, his time would have been better spent holding a press conference at the The Flat Earth Society convention.

Pinky Ring you almost made sense but he did come on the show for wat the show said he came on there for is not true he did not go on there to talk about LeBron James remember they did not know he was coming so they don't know why he came on there but yes he did want it to talk about why he left and he was going to do dat but they wasn't asking him nothing about why he left the Cleveland Cavaliers they ask him why he leaving LeBron James dats y he started acting the way he was with dem they da jackass

Smileyfacedkiller he didn't answer anything... he was a fuckin politicians yesterday. He did a great job talking without saying anything. He could've saved everyone the trouble and not done the show at all.

Kyrie obviously didn't want to speak on the situation too much. He knows that the media always flips things into stories and huge headlines and that's what he's trying to avoid. He just doesn't want to get caught in any bs

If he didn't want to speak on the situation, why did he go on the show then? Surely he must have known the types of questions he was going to be likely asked.

@cluezybluez7 жыл бұрын
I know that he can. You may have missed my point. I'm simply stating if Kyrie Irving didn't want to answer these questions with full honesty, than why would he put himself in that position by coming on First Take? If you didn't want to answer certain questions, would you put yourself in a position where you will be asked said questions? It's a matter of logic, not a matter of whether or not he can lol.

Kyrie got all the bronsexuals in their feelings. he left Cleveland how he wanted to and he answered those questions how he wanted to. deep down bronsexuals are just upset because they know lebron is definitely not winning another ring any time soon and I know that hurts. I got even more respect for Kyrie now because he showed he don't have to bow down to anyone and he only answers to himself..

Maurice Davis So who wins a ring 1st Bron without Kyrie or Kyrie without Bron.? You remember your statement. I think we may see LeBron of Miami yr 3, when he willed that team to a ring. HI HATERS. 😂 😂 😂 Kyrie will be Kyrie but in Beantown that's all... If Bron leave I still be a Cavs fans how many others will say that... Hopefully he'll stay. Figures crossed

Kyrie should have simply said that he felt disrespected that his name was even brought up into a trade conversation when he should untouchable based on the fact he has contributed a lot in the last 3 years with a winning three point shot against the Warriors. He's not even fully considered as an NBA Champion! Plus, the trade itself was about making LeBron happy by trying to bring Paul George so that he can commit long term and that's a fact. So, going to a place where his talents can be fully utilized and valued is extremely logical. I'm sure he's in a much better place.
