Caleb Williams is the first overall draft pick for the Chicago Bears. He has drawn comparisons to the likes of Patrick Mahomes. But will he live up to these expectations and have the Bears faithful forget all about Justin Fields? Or will he go down as one of the biggest draft busts of all time?

Great he has a a Heisman trophy to boot ! But no national championship regardless , In the past, how many talented quarterbacks have gone to the same, and once they came to the NFL and face a more powerful force, more speed and people always wanting to knock your head off on the side of the field , with that said, we have to stop putting him on a pedestal and any more pressure to him , we have to let him work himself into the situation and hopefully everything turns out OK for him , Godspeed CW

I agree. But I brought up the fact that he actually has weapons at his disposal. He has a top 5 WR group. Not many 1st overalls had that at their disposal, if any.

It's pretty simple: Different GMs. Ryan Pace couldn't commit to a full rebuild and instead kept doing this soft rebuild by trading picks and signing free agents to big contracts. He drafted Fields as a hail mary(pun intended) to save his job. He left Ryan Poles with not much draft capital and a team full of bad contracts, then he set out to do the full rebuild Pace was never willing to do. I dunno if you know this, but rebuilds take time. I dunno why anyone thinks he should've done all this in just one offseason. Also, you should probably consider that if Fields deserved to stay with the team then he'd still be with the team.

Literally said none of them got the job done. Fields also never had any success like cutler and that’s just facts. Only thing he does better than cutler is run. But if you don’t think jay cutler was a tough QB idk what to tell you. Dude has type 1 diabetes and was playing professional sports. And was sacked 31 times a season with the bears lol. Why do I need to mention fields. His situation sucked and Caleb is coming into a much better situation as was mentioned.

Really? Caleb is being touted based 100% on how good he looks in college, right? Yet when looked at side by side, Caleb can't do a single thing Fields can't also do while Fields kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3uyYoOpqtV5lbc is not only a better rusher, he's Far More Accurate than Caleb is. It's not even close. Caleb is Fields Lite if anything. Go ahead, count 'em. Count how many times where even if the pass is caught, had it been placed better the receiver may not have been tackled right away _AND_ also count the complete misses where the ball was so off-target or floated so high the only reason the defense doesn't make a play the only reason has to be the coverage was so badly blown that they gave up. Fields throws 2 such passes. Caleb has over ten. How tf are the people who called plays that Fields couldn't work gonna learn to call plays that Caleb can? & Matt Eberflus has bragged about meddling in the offense which is why for two years people asked him & not Luke Getsy about the problems it has. So the guy calling the plays that failed with Fields is still on the team whereas Getsy, the guy who engineered the 5-game increased offensive streak in '23 & the 3-game one in '22, proving that with good play-calling fields could score points before they even acquired D.J. Moore was fired by this inept douche who brags about calling losing plays. Fields called out the play-calling publicly, twice & not one person on the team responded. That was a clear sign they didn't even have the character to tell him to his face they were done with him while making it clear to everyone they were. Remember when Mac Jones was caught seeking help outside the Pats how Bellichick responded? Now imagine Bellichick not responding. Yeah, we'd all know Jones was about to be traded. As with most teams, the new coach & GM want to oust all the Old Guard. Those streaks of improved offense were both mid-season, both made the offense more effective. & Eberflus cancelled those plays twice. Remember this when the same plays start effing up Caleb (if they do) &/or the team somehow still manages to lose games because the roster isn't that deep & that 4th-rounder just isn't enough to fix the o-line. Fields has more talent than Williams. So how good are any of you at seeing "generational" talent?

Going by these highlights what makes this guy any better than fields and believe me I don't like Fields he's spectacular with his feet but you can't consistently win in the NFL with a quarterback who's good on his feet only best guy struggle to get 200 yd passing in a game but anyway my point is that from these highlights Williams is having the same problems fields did only he's playing in college so it's much easier than the NFL. What I mean is in every single one of these highlights it is a you know play breaks up everybody's just kind of playing backyard football I mean obviously anybody who has played organized football knows that there's certain things the receivers in the quarterbacks do when they roll out and that they look for obviously but we understand that when that happens a lot of time it's kind of like backyard football you're not doing anything that's like a plan play it breaks down and everybody just kind of going where they can to get open. But there is no rhythm please this entire video I seen zero with rhythm plays and that's what you need to be consistent in the NFL you have to be able to anticipate when your receivers are going to be open you have to throw the ball before the receiver is open because he's only going to be open for a split second so you got to throw it at the right time in the NFL and Fields just could not do that and in every highlight it's the same thing if your quarterback can only get big plays when it's outside of the pocket you don't have a good quarterback you have to have to have a quarterback who can stand back there and pick you apart when he has time. Justin fields and what I've seen so far from Caleb Williams is a see it first guy they have to see the guy open before they will throw it and that just does not cut it in the NFL some guys pick it up really quick some never do like fields. But this is how you tell if a quarterback is going to be one of the breaks as in his rookie year he throws for a lot of yards in the mid-20s of touchdowns and up and they also threw for 15 to 25 interceptions interceptions. Now go look at the greats I'm telling you all of them have a lot of touchdowns a lot of yards but they also have a lot of interceptions and it's because they're Gunslingers at first and then they have to learn the tricks that the NFL plays on you because there's traps that they set for a rookie quarterbacks to throw pics. But it means that the player is making the right reads it's just they're getting baited into a lot of trick reads That You Don't See in college. If just one of those three stats are off in the rookie year or the very first year of them starting anyway then you don't have one of the all-time greats. Simple look it up and I bet you you'll find most great quarterbacks had those three things in there first year of starting a lot of yards a lot of touchdowns but also a lot of interceptions. But with all that said I hope to God for us Bears fans can this guy at least like being pretty good. I mean just I'll take a guy who throws for you know like 300 yd games you know once every three games or something or just give me a 4000 yd year. Honestly that isn't even that many yards nowadays or Ashley I'd say just slightly above average give me 30 touchdowns I'll take 23 interceptions with that. I'm telling you the high interception rookie years that is the number one sign that you have a great one when they also throw for the yards in the touchdowns. The reason for this is because you can't teach the anticipation you can't teach the intangibles you can't teach the will to throw the ball down field in the face of adversity. The ability to do so well with your yards and your touchdowns that the coaches are more than willing to take your interceptions that first year that is so hard to overcome his or rookie quarterback it's unreal because you can't have high interception numbers if you don't have high yards in touchdowns because the culturally ain't your ass only if you're like fucking Rick Meyer or Ryan Leaf or something do you get that treatment anyway I hope to God this kid is good just please man just be better than Jordan love actually that's my only thing how about that just let him be better than Jordan love please do like come on football games you cannot do this to us again as Bears fans it's bullshit how the fuck you're going to give them three possibly three Hall of Fame quarterbacks in a row that is just complete bullshit and have our best guy bee Jay Cutler which by the way I liked you can win with Jay Cutler absolutely look what happens when we got some receivers and shit finally for him in 2013 if only the fucking they didn't get rid of her locker like idiots when Urlacher said he would have played for the minimum like how the fuck do you not offer Brian Urlacher the minimum. Anyway again hopefully this kid is fucking good
