In the last few years I've learnt two things about most Americans: - 1. We Brits live in a secular society. Don't underestimate how important the Christian faith is to many Americans. It's not like the UK. - 2. Many Americans have a visceral response to anything remotely related to 'the left' or 'socialism'. You'll get a pass if you express racial bigotry or support citizens having access to sub machine guns but don't say you support any social policies such as the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) and the like. Many will vote for Trump, not because they necessarily like or respect the guy, but because the alternative is just too horrifying to contemplate and un-American.
@t0mahawkj0nes11 сағат бұрын
I still don't like Trump but have to vote for him. 1. No one voted for Kamala. They stole my party. 2. The whole kangaroo court thing with Trump. Literally the guy shouldn't have even been charged due to statute of limitations, AND it was a misdemeanor anyway. 3. Our tax money going to war. 4. I am pro-LEGAL-immigration. You wouldn't leave your front door open and let anyone walk in your house without you knowing about it. 5. The egregious attempt to paint Trump as someone to fear. He literally has already been president before, nothing happened. 6. Kamala has actively spoken out against freedom of speech. As has her running mate. 7. The overwhelmingly apparent bias of mass media to lean against Trump really makes me wonder what is going on behind the scenes. I would rather vote for a guy where last time nothing happened, than vote for someone who all these weird stuff is going on.

Every time that I see a comment like this I imagine Trump being escorted through the prison gates to a marching band playing Nellie The Elephant. The chorus of the song is as follows:- Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk And said goodbye to the circus Off she went with a trumpety-trump Trump, trump, trump. In the context of Make America Great Again, I see him on the chain gang.

My ex was an avid Trump supporter. She once told me that he was the most attractive man in the world. In retrospect, it’s easy to see why didn’t work. He’s used to getting away with not paying contractors who work for him, he’s used to getting away with illegal stuff and he just assumed his luck would carry on. When he originally made the comment people excused it as a joke. But I think most of the support is because people find it very hard to back down once they’ve publicly supported someone. I hope you’re right but I’m skeptical. The only reason his coup attempt failed last time is that there were enough principled people around him, often Republicans, to say no when he asked them to break the law. Most of those people are gone. Instead of hearing, ‘I can’t do that, Mr President. That would be illegal/unconstitutional’, he’ll hear, ‘Yes, sir, Mr President. Right away.’
