I was lucky enough to visit the Hagia Sofia 12 years ago .It is an amazing piece of architecture with a long and varied history as church , mosque and museum .I believe the decision to change it to a mosque is up to the Turkish people although keeping it neutral as a museum means the world can visit and look upon its beauty .No easy decision here .

What a stupid you are. Turkish Republic is a secular state by Organic Law. Even Ottoman Empire was established on Turkish customs and Islamic Laws not just on "ISLAMIC LAW". Before Ottomans, Anatolia was a Seljuk State. Their state system was based on Turkish customs and Persianate Islam. Before them, Anatolia was a Roman State which is Christian. Turkish people are not Jihadist/Islamist or what ever. Their daily life based on benefit actually. Even praying in mosque rate is 22% in Turkey LOL. Turkish people are just realist.
