That’s not bad, if it had chunks I would worry about it, but you would know better by pulling out the bottom drain plug.. but depending on what ratio you have, I have a set of complete low mileage Freightliner Meritor rears…

That would be very much appreciated! We really can't afford to spend $3K on this! We are spending way too much money right now as it is! Pretty scary how fast we are going through the money that we have borrowed already. It seems to be slipping through our fingers right now. Such a scary thought! Thanks for the comments, Mr. Christopher. And more importantly, thank you for the PRAYERS! Merry Christmas! Ruthie and Steven 12/24/24

A bit of play is ok on those and a small amount of metal is ok also but if there's chunks of gear teeth that's a different story . the best way to tell is the bottom drain plug . if you pull the drain plug you need to be ready to plug the hole so you dont loose all your oil . but the magnetic plug will have chunks of gear if is bad . a little fine metal is normal almost like filings the magnet picks up . I've seen even parts of shims stuck to the magnet and never had a problem . I haul heavy loads 45 ton pay load and 65 ton gross . thats with 40,000 lbs rockwells . pretty sure you would have 40,000 lbs in that truck . the other thing that can destroy a drive line is wrong air ride height . pinion angles and drive line geometry . i hate seeing money wasted when your trying not to spend it . I know you hate problems but that is a truck and it will love you back . but you gotta love it first . theres got to be lots of good wreakers down there to shop at .
