44:00 Was at work when I said that and got held up by a slow customer at a normally quiet time, otherwise I'd have answered this question about the 42:00 situation. That is part of actual baseball, under the section concerning the differences between running by force, (ball is hit and batter and all runners with no open bases behind them must advance by 1), and running by choice, (Trying to go up by 2 or more instead of 1, stealing, "tag running", or any reason at all that someone moves from 2nd or 3rd while the previous base is empty). Force rules applied during Pete's trip to 1st base, and then switched to choice rules when he went past it. Would be a lot to lay out exactly what goes into this though, so I won't.
