Both are important. A sensible coordinated effort is required.

“I accepted to come to this meeting to have a sober and mature conversation. I’m not in any way signing up to any discussion that is alarmist. There is no science out there, or no scenario out there, that says that the phase-out of fossil fuel is what’s going to achieve 1.5C.” - Sultan Al Jaber, President of COP 28, also CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Mukhtar Babayev will be the president for COP 29; he is also a former executive of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijian Republic. Seems more and more likely, scenario SSP5-8.5 of the IPCC assessment may come to fruition (or at least the higher end of the spectrum). I say enjoy what you can, while you still can; pity the generations to come.

I hope that AI will amplify ingenuity by a lot. -Even if it is bad for the environment, it offers some true hope to deal with consequences.

Whenever I see topics about economic growth and climates. It becomes a rabbit hole since there is no right answer. In a world where economic power determines countries's millitary power. It is stupid to abandon economic growth in favor of climates. So, we simply need to run both programm parallel, right? It is easier said than done. It is like a curse of economy that to get fast economic growth, it is necessary to destroy nature. Let's say that a country pledged to cut the carbon producing by X units. I believe most of the time, they simply moved the carbon producing part to outside its country, so if you see the bigger picture as seeing it as a whole earth, carbon producing acrivities will be net zero if not net positive (keep increases).
