So Ireland beat SA in the World Cup , SA then almost lose to France England and New Zealand but go on to win the World Cup , have faith much younger team coming through for Ireland now.

The key word here is almost lose, but they didn't and that is the difference SA win when it matters and the Irish lose when it matters most. Even with the best Irish team ever they still couldn't even get past the QF. They will need more NZ and SA players in the team to win a WC.

@ no you’re right but they won twice the money SA won for winning the WC and it mattered , just because you have a pool of players 10 times the the size of the Irish pool of rugby players, your rugby is riddled with drugs 11 schools players banned for 3 years in 2024 and two internationals banned for 4 years, Irish sport is clean can you say that about SA who apart from rugby preform miserably on the international stage, and this is what you’re proud of… shame…

If France play like they did against New Zealand, they will beat every one of us in the Six Nations and they will deserve to do so. Ireland need to clean up the mistakes and they need to innovate to have any chance of repeating the last two years.

I am paying no attention to history in my prediction of their performance in the 6N, only the autumn games. Maybe it's a lingering glitch. But Scotland look good and trounced Australia.. I hope we get as high as 2nd place.

Still a long way to go. 6 nations can be unpredictable. We've drawn (luckily) Italy last February after putting 60 on them in October... dynamics can change very very quickly. A good win over England round 1 and you're back on track

This autumn was a feint. I think Ireland will win the six nations, not sure by a grand slam though hopefully. France are the team to beat but we have them at home so imma give that one to Eire. I think people will be pleasantly surprised by simon easterby, hes a brilliant coach and will be very eager to make an impression holding the reins. Expect goodmans influence to catch fire.

Unlike the last two years, this Ireland - France is quite late in the competition (Round 4) and I think it's an advantage for us (French). Not using it as an excuse for the past two encounters - we were comprehensively and logically beaten - but I think we tend to play better and better throughout a tournament while Ireland are often quick off the block but can slow down a bit. I really hope we'll beat England at Twickenham round 2. That's my worry personally. If we come to Dublin with 3 wins in the bag and not too many injuries, I'll firmly believe in our chances.

Yes, I think we can win it and probably a Grand slam too. This Autumn a number of players came into camp in bad form. Munster were in a bit of a state with their coaching situation and that definitely affected their players. we didn't have Furlong and Beilham was having a poor run. Kelleher wasn't at his best and Sheehan was sorely missed. I think if our players gain form with their clubs we will definitely be in the mix.

Personally I fancy either England or France to beat you at home. Performances against Argentina and Australia not convincing enough. Very hopeful to expect a grand slam... Not even mentioning Scotland away and 32-15 flattered South Africa, Scotland were incredible for large parts of that game...Having beaten Australia convincingly they are truly gonna fancy themselves now...
