I was there about 5 years ago. There are some Roman ruins just down the road, I went to have a look & the people I was with spotted the tower and shot off like Greyhounds after a squirrel. Didn't get to see the ruins, I'd have lost the others. Lots of beautiful buildings in Pisa, all mostly ignored by tourists.

They can actually prevent it from leaning any further or falling if they add a bunch of rebars tilted on the side so it has something to lean on. As an engineer, I can easily solve this, just need the workers and I can explain what needs to be done. I think they aren’t doing it because it will cost a lot. But honestly it would cost less than $2 million to completely stabilize the building. It’s worth the money.

I remember reading the history article when I was in Europe stationed in Germany about the Leaning Tower of Pisa that was designed that way so they could do I forget the historical scientist name but he was testing gravity the effects of heavy objects light objects he wanted to make sure there was no obstacles or anything that could obstruct his experiments so he designed the power to be leaning at a certain angle
