Mam and sir, may i am inform you that you have a CLEVELAND engine! That is a boss of an engine right there. You do well to keep that car and everything on it like it was factory. It could be a gold mine one day. Oh wait, 1973 mach 1 mustang, it is a goldmine! Congratulations on your find. Happy motoring. @@FlatlineGarage I love some BG music. Not much down here in south Alabama. Te band I played with for years is out of north GA, around the Blue Ridge area. I had one more question for you. After you got it cranked, did you check the transmission fluid on the stick again? It sounded a lot like it was low on fluid. FMX or C6?
@FlatlineGarage10 ай бұрын
The door sticker says the car originally had a 302 with a C4 transmission. I am not sure if the transmission was swapped when the 351C was dropped in or if it will has a C4. I put all of the transmission fluid I had at the time in it and it was still low, so I do think most of our issues are fluid related. I am thinking this weekend I might make a video changing the transmission fluid and filter to see if that will fix her up.
@Rusty_Dents10 ай бұрын
@@FlatlineGarage before you change it, add to the full mark with it running. A lot of people will tell you not to change the fluid and filter on an old transmission, unless you know it's been serviced regularly. I would get it to idle below 1K RPM before you drop it in gear too. Revving it as high as you did may have done a lot of damage that could have been resolved with fluid.
