In this video I start to tear down the 1951 Willys Truck. And by tear down I mean, continually take parts off of the truck until I finally get the engine out.

Man, that little four cylinder put up a fight! It seems to be in good shape since you got into it, That is kind of weird with exhaust valves in the block and intake in the head, but it works. Great video Aaron and looking forward to the videos on the progress. Take care.

Very interesting project, from a 73 year old farmer, trick, A 50-50 mixture of diesel and ATF, create a chemical reaction that eats up the varnish and rust in your cylinders and bottom end, has always worked for me and inexpensive to do.🧑‍🌾

In the first video on this truck I filled the motor up with diesel mixed with atf. It sat for two weeks and didn’t help. Thanks for the tip. I’ve used it with success many times

So its ok to hone with pistons in still? I have a motor i have heads off and not wanting to completely rebuild.

If you get the pistons as far down as they will go in the cylinders you can clean them up. But if your rings are wore out they probably still won’t seal

Definitely was not hydro locked. There was no spark plugs in it.
