Buddy! This happen to me and the wife out in the middle of nowhere. I took my 9.9 boat motor that had electric start and a charging system on it. Ratchet strapped it to the front bumper on my truck with the leg stuck in a tote of water and pull started it while it was hooked up to my truck battery. Made some wicked camping pancakes, and by the time we cleaned up for breakfast she was charged up a s ready to start. 😎

I have jump started many cars and trucks using just a single m18 Milwaukee battery. If that battery was 75% it would have started that ferd right up. An 18 volt 5.0 amp hour battery will just most cars and trucks. The rea truck is just installing a start saver on your truck, when the voltage drops power is automatically cut to protect the battery so you can start your truck after passing out in the woods with a bunch of dudes. I heard some story from someone that said if your hood is open you are a giver and if your tailgate is down you are the receiver.

The Ronda & Rachet strap routine, the one-wheel pull gives you a 2:1 gear into your 4.10's. So you get an 8.20:1 ratio from the tire to the driveshaft. Close to 10:1 at the engine if you're pullin' in OD. but then you were in freakin low range, so probably like 5:1... And when you double the voltage to the starter, you also double the current to the starter, so use more wire. but it's 4x powerful. When you run 60v of Milwaukieeee batteries into your starter, you make everything s#!t the bed. good gawd

Last year I drove my IDI around with no alternator for 2 months. Belt kicked off on the highway so I drive it home with my shoelaces running the water pump, and then I just left it like that. I never pull started that, but I did pull start my 300 once. That one I used a rope around the crank pulley.

Ok, Peg, hear me out. When you put the saw on the alternator from outside, the saw spun the alternator the same way the engine does. But, when you sat in the engine bay with the saw flipped around the opposite way, I believe it spun the "altern-tator" in the reverse direction. Did it still charge the battery spinning backwards????

I have pushed vehicles on level pavement, 1945 GMC for one, got it rolling jumped in threw it in gear a let out the clutch, I kept the drum brakes set loose, had a worn out 250 engine, I have started other vehicles this way as well.

When pop starting you kinda want a higher gear to pop start so it’s Easley to turn the engine over but you may need to be ready to push that clutch back in fast becouse it will start lugging an stall if ur in to high of a gear depends on the truck if it’s heavy it may pop start in first or second becouse the wheels have a lot of weight on em to turn the engine

So in review. the engine spins slower when the gear box in high gear. On a spider gear set when I tire is held still. It doubles the wheel speed ( minty 1 legged burnouts) when you pull start a vehicle. The mechanical advantage is reversed. So in 5th gear with 1 tire being pulled you had the greatest mechanical advantage but the engine turned very slowly. Sound right?

I remember that video with the 90 ford dually, I had something similar happen to me but with a dewalt kit, had my bag with a drill, saw, grinder jig saw in the back of my truck and 1 of the batteries decided to let go and it melted everything, at least it was in the back of my truck that had no bed liner so didn't do much other than bubble the paint around the area.

My buddy did this out in the Bush one day, but he had just a little battery left. Enough to excite it. He didn't have a v belt. If truck is discharged and lucky enough to be near a slope or hillside ,a feller can use a handyman jack to pull the truck up the hill winch style,then let it rip down the hill with a rolling clutch start. shot of Cosby Sauce for insurance is optional.

Man why did it take me so long to find this award winning chanel. I like my furds too. When I saw your truck there that was one of the 1st things my eye went to was the hood ornament. I didn't know the straight six story behind it. My 1st vehicle was a old 75 F100 with the straight 6 300. I wonder If you could take the glow plugs out of the block and put ether in a couple of the cylinders, like two that would fire in order one after another. I wonder if turning the glow plugs on to ignite the ether would be enough of a kick to turn the engine over and start the rest of the cylinders.

Pegatron, I watched a video of an engine that started by using a shotgun shell blank. (Shotgun shell with lead dumped out) piston just past tdc…….. the pressure from the blank pushed the piston down and fired the other cylinders…..

46:08 on an open diff with only 1 wheel spinning its doubeling the gear reduction so if it is a 4.1:1 rear gear 1 tire spinning is 8.2:1

your battery thing, 2 in paralell, connect it to the 12v battery and walk away for 40 mins and have a few cold ones. by the time you come back the 12v battery will have enough juice to start. ive used this trick a few times boosting a big diesel off a smaller weaker jump pack, just leave it a while.

You could do 2 straps around the tires and then hook the one like you had it tie it to a tree cut the tree down and the momentum of the tree will pull the straps if you didn't have a Ronda
