I'd like to mention that sure I didn't let the engine warm up loads but however I did cut out a lot where it was running but not very well so the oil has circulated enough by the point of the scene I gave it another go and revd it up. Besides, I kept a close eye on the dash to make sure there wasn't a oil pressure warning and I did let it run for a few seconds to built some oil pressure. It wouldn't idle straight away so I had to apply a bit of throttle just to keep it running. That's why it sounded like it had a high idle at the start.

I like these type of videos. Most of them drag the cars out of their resting place before starting them. You just started up the Cavalier without dragging it out
@vxvii9069Ай бұрын
Yes they had V6 versions. Cavaliers are worth a good £3500+ in good condition even in basic spec. If you’re able to restore it I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding a buyer. I dread to think what a state the floor pan and chassis is after being sat there for who knows how long
@ammo1gАй бұрын
That engine will prob be toast now seen as you was revving bollox off it and sat all that time you should have let it warm up first. Defo worth saving pal 🙏

Had a G reg 2.0L same colour. Was a real sleeper with 2.0L badge on. Would indicate 138mph flat out before the advent of speed cameras. Driving to Germany and back regularly would cruise at 90-100 no problem. Looked such a plain car but was part the pleasure. Sold at 150k miles without a clutch or anything other than servicing. Don’t make them like this. Had a 2.0 primera after another fantastic car

@AzureecosseАй бұрын
Camshafts wore quickly and they burned oil , they had to detune this model over the previous 1600cc and reduced the HP by 8hp to combat wear and improve emissions. The previous simpler 90hp carburettor fed engine was stronger and more reliable unit but still had problems.
