12:10 streaming definitely hurts movies, but I think part of the reason people are more willing to wait for streaming is because of how expensive movie tickets/ the theater experience have gotten. If I could still go pay $8-10 for a ticket to a prime-time showing and then $7-10 on snacks and walk out of the theater only spending $15-20 for that experience, I would be much more inclined to go to the theater. But when the ticket itself is almost $20 and you’re gonna end up spending $30-40 if you want snacks, then I’m more inclined to wait and stream it.

47:11 I normally agree with Coy, like 11 times out of 10 I’ve heard someone else start pitching something on this show and then I’m like but xyz and then Coy says it almost verbatim; this is not one of those instances, although I would still echo what he said because he isn’t wrong, but he’s wrong in that they would do exactly that because it’s Spider-Man. Spider-Man we all know, all of the Spiders, truly, have a tragic backstory; strike one for having a rough entrance into a new medium (cartoon to live action, I’m assuming we’re talking MM from Spiderverse); then we have Spiderverse, and that’s self explanatory enough in conjunction with Secret Wars/multiple universes. Third: We. Need. (Live action) Miles. Absolutely love Tom but we gotta keep it fresh and the less he shows up, the more he can do other work and the better the reward will be when Peter does show back up.

Basically, ‘disrespecting’ Miles by ‘throwing’ him into Avengers 5 or 6 could really pay off in my opinion but it truly would be a huge gamble. Like, if it doesn’t pay off for the story and you’re just routing him there for the attention, it’s essentially the same thing as Dazzler being Taylor Swift in Deadpool 3 and that’ll make you 3 million dollars but it won’t make it a great story.

Coy is way off on whether promo would have helped as much. Five hundred million people speak spanish natively worldwide. Around another ~70 million speak it fluently. In 2022, it was estimated that approximately 650 million people lived in Latin America and the Caribbean. Brazil is the most populated country in the region, with an estimated 215 million inhabitants in that year, followed by Mexico with more than 128 million. Promo would have saved Blue Beetle. While streaming is the killer, promo would have changed how it played out.
