He's probably a nice guy. Yet, all these star football players get royal treatment in college and, before that, in high school. No doubt that Levis has worked hard but he will likely have more humbling experiences as a football player: interceptions, losses, injuries, trades, being released, etc.. Along the way he'll make more money that the average Joe. He needs to move on and focus on further developing his skills.

GIVE ME A BREAK! You can't blame the agent if the player himself significantly lowered his own stock by making childish posts on social media and apparently not impressing potential teams by being too cocky and arrogant. His agent got him interviews with at least 8 NFL teams that ALL passed on him! The agent can't answer questions during the interview for Levis. Seems that there is an issue with Levis' personality. And no organization wants to deal with "characters" and their drama anymore. It's a waste of time and money.

Imagine how Malik Willis felt. They hyped him up to going as high as #2 Overall and he didn't get selected until the 3rd round. Every year there's a QB that falls dramatically and there are reasons for it. The early picks are all the top guys typically regardless of fit, the mid picks are guys that slid or team needs and the later in the round it goes the less likely the team needs a QB cause generally speaking the later the pick the more likely the team has a franchise/good QB already. Teams that played well enough to end up with the 25th pick probably have their QB. The Bills, Jags, Giants, Eagles and Chiefs for example don't need a QB. That's part of it and the other part is taking a QB prospect is difficult. It's hard to justify taking a project when there's a starting caliber contributor on the board especially early in the 1st round. Nobody is sitting there thinking of taking the 4th best QB prospect in the draft that has evident flaws when guys like Will Anderson, Jalen Carter and potential franchise OT's like Paris Johnson are available. I'm sure a team will have no issue taking him early in the 2nd round and he'll have a chance to develop and learn the game but the value simply wasn't there early in the draft and the teams picking later don't need a QB so it's natural he'd fall to the 2nd round.

@@lochnessmonster5149 That's fair but what I meant was how a QB prospect with good potential sometimes isn't as valued as they, the agents, the media or fans think they are. What we do know is he had an incredible arm and is very mobile and if that develops he could be special. Surely as we know now that isn't the case or what happened.

I'm a bit surprised no one traded up to 30-31 to take him for the 5th year of control. But yea, his agent definitely eff'ed up lol. I understand the point that drafts are a fluid thing but if you're not a 1000% sure he gets picked then don't have him attend.

From what I've been hearing about Levis (and I have no idea how accurate it is) it sounds like he has a king size attitude and the agent may have set the floor and maybe Levis just didn't listen.

It's the best thing for him. He'll come in with less expectations like Brees did. Not saying he's Brees, but he has an opportunity to prove every team wrong that passed on him. He might be a Raider, he might be a Viking. Wouldn't that be nice? He gets to sit a year behind the second best QB in the NFC and watch how he preps for games. How he studies. Picking up the intricacies of a guy himself who was passed on and proved all the teams wrong. And set the precedent for guaranteed money across the league.

GM’s don’t worry about such things. My dad was a GM and Scouting Director. They pick their best choice for each round. The agents, tell their clients that they are all going to be a high pick…because the agents get more money

Can’t really use this as an example of bad analytics (plenty of those to pick from). What ESPN’s analytic model essentially said was it would be a major surprise if Levis somehow fell out of the first round. Didn’t hear anything different from the old school football talking heads either. They too thought it was all but certain he’d be picked in round 1. I can’t find a single published mock draft that doesn’t have him in the top 10, let alone out of round 1.

Levis wasn’t a dude that got everything handed to him, he was a 3 star recruit, sat on the bench at Penn State for years and then had to transfer to historically one of the worst schools in the SEC just to get a chance to start in college. The guy played behind one of the worst offensive lines in football, and played through injury all of last year because of that. If you don’t like his game that’s fine, but it’s really lame to just make up stuff about a guy you know nothing about.

It’s so obvious that most of these commentators don’t do any of their own research on these guys. They get all of their information “second hand” via other commentators who also don’t do research. This creates a perpetual loop or sound board and solidifies a false narrative. I watched ever throw / run from Levis this year and it’s so obvious (to even an armchair scout like me) why this guy isn’t a 1st or 2nd round talent. Although NFL scouts and management wiff on players at times, all 32 teams made a statement regarding Levi’s yesterday: he’s not a 1st round talent. To me, he’s a reach in the 3rd round and you can get good value if you pick him round 4-7 depending on your teams situation. As a 49ers fan, I know that we can use depth at QB. I wouldn’t be mad if they took Levis bottom of the 3rd, top of the 4th considering his upside is that of a game manager.
