Not exactly. Good brands are just evolving and moving forward.....others aren't. Some of the so called market leaders have barely updated their boats in over 10 years. My hope is that the brands keep competing and making their products better.

@@BaitBallin for example when you owned bar crusher was awesome, Caribbean likewise. Now yellowfin the same. IMHO yellowfin are an ugly duckling that slap like crazy. Give me a custom builder any day

BC were good 5-10 years go. Caribbean ARE good and so are these. My guess is you haven't been in one. Custom plates are mediocre in most cases and don't hold their value. Nobody wants them second hand and I'd never buy or recommend one.

@@Ben-un3zw Bar Crushers haven't evolved well. They're now called Bone Crushers. As BB said, Caribbean are the best when it comes to glass, as for plate aluminum Yellowfin are right up there with the best. They have picked up their game substantially. If you have been on a Yellowfin that "slaps like crazy" it hasn't been set-up correctly.

Thanks man. Yeah lack of welding on other brands is to cut costs by making all hulls identical for every boat layout, then bolting crap in. Plus they are using alloy too thin to actually weld in those areas, again cutting time and cost. Good for them, bad for us.

Nice boat! Your right the fit out is second to none. One thing I don’t understand is why yellowfin cheap out on the trailers. A good trailer needs to have full rollers on the keel and self guiding skids like the easy tow provide. I Guess we will find out in time how this one performs

Yeah I haven't looked super close at the finish yet but paint, welds etc certainly looking better than previous YF models I've looked at. I think they have lifted their game on the quality front. Yep will get it offshore and give it a good flogging soon

Yep Northbank, CC, Caribbean, Haines were also all on my list. Il talk about all the models one day I was looking at. Ultimately as I am time poor and not too physically able, went for the easy to operate option

And a very good option in my opinion. Had a 610 territory legend with a 200 yamaha for four years sold it for the cc it punched well above its weight for a pressed alloy boat.

Great vid! If you want to install a second Garmin, will this interfere with the roll up door box? Also, can you ensure you measure the overall length of the trailer, and the height of the boat on the trailer to the top of the radar bracket? Or the highest point please? Thanks

I like the position of the fuel filler cap. It would be great if they could position one on each side of the boat. Crowded Servos can be a real time waster if you end up being in a slow line of fellow boaters fuelling up. At least you would have the option of pulling up to a pump on either side of the boat, this would hopefully aid for a faster exit.

Ill be very interested in your opinion on the new scupper design, on my old 5800FHT I used to always have water coming up through them no matter how often I cleaned them! Easily the most frustrating thing out of what otherwise was a great boat!

Looking forward to the measure tape video, theres a measure on the floor that stops about 100 short so it looks like theres only 1300mm of fishing room? My old 5.4m seafarer had 1900mm from seats to rear gunwale. Throw a decent esky in there and you cant even walk around. As a fishing boat i think they need to focus more on fishability and less on family day cruising comforts.

​@@BaitBallin - Please don't think im being a smart ass - I just noticed you went all out on your boat and was just wondering why :) So the "Garmin Boat Switch" removes the need for physical buttons on the dash, and moves them onto your Garmin screen. The benefit is there is no need for extra wiring (for the switch panel) AND no need for fuses or fuse boxes as it's digital. In addition to the above, it monitors current, and if a wire trips the "fuse" your Garmin screen will tell you which switch & when. Furthermore, you can set times for things like live-wells so it automatically turns it on and off after a time chosen by you. I have mine set to on for 2mins after 10mins etc. And its 100% compatible with Yamaha. Whilst its $1500 it works out cheaper when you add up all the things it does & replaces.

Ooh tbh that boat was close to top of my list of glass rigs and I chose this instead. For ease of maintenance, cleaning, better seating, more fuel capacity, full length cabin bunk, rear seating and more. But I do definitely like those 675s! Either way, you'd be happy id say.

​@@BaitBallin The HH 675 has a pathetic fuel tank capacity for a boat pushing under 7mtrs. 👎 270lt fuel capacity just doesn't cut it these day's for a long day fishing/ trawling out off the shelf or doing an overnighter.

Yes. The first thing I look for in buying a boat is whether it has a good low km YAMAHA engine. I don’t mind if it has a Mercury but I would need a 20% discount.

​@sjsisdhdjdkssosjdhxnx That said, Yamaha have been running the same platform 4.2ltr for over 12 yrs, so much older technology than Mercury. Mercury also have long warranty 3+3 versus Yamaha 2+2 Each to their own, I've owned all 3 major brands over the last 15 yrs, now back to running a current model Yamaha 300. Funny enough the only problematic one I had was the first of the Mercury 4 strokes that were running the Yamaha power heads, having constant corrosion from poor quality aluminium that Yamaha were using back in early 2000's. Mercury is bigger in the USA, Yamaha bigger here I would say. They are all good these days.
