The 150 NVDA call writers are in a good position this morning. With the Stock at 142 currently, and IV will be decreased massively. I sell calls and would not be buying stock to cover. I don't think Market Makers would be either. The worst case scenario for them is that come Friday they are short NVDA at 150.

Market makers dont play that game and generally have a much tighter delta limit imposed by their risk desk. Their aim is to make money on facilitation, not speculation. What you've described above is speculation.
