For Junior to use Bafana Bafana to make a case is just absurd. While I have ultimate respect for the players, they don't really have much to show for themselves. Not everyone agrees with the selection criteria of our national team, so just being there doesn't mean you're the best. What I like about football is that we will forever have different opinions on the same game - what could have, should have, and all that. I believe any local team playing abroad is not just representing their club but also putting us as Mzansi on the map. Their determination and fighting spirit will make all the difference. Since 2010 it's only 6 teams that has won the competition, and of those 6; 4 have been in the top 4 for the past 4 seasons. As a Sundowns fan i can tell you for free that beautiful football doesn't win you champions league; we tried, Pirates team of 2012/13 tried with beautiful football it didn't work.

And for a team to make it to the knockout stages doesn't mean it has to be big but they have to work hard, be eager to win each and every match. Winning against Sundowns with refereeing that has question marks doesn't guarantee anything. Even if they make it to the knockout stages will they be able to deal with the pressure of playing more matches and be expected to win, do they have the arrogance to face any team and come out victorious, does Pirates have the squad that can play 3 matches in a week and give good results?
