The reason there is road access and small trees is because they already mined that ground 100 years ago and used the trails for logging after they were done.

I lived i Alaska in the early 1980s and 1990s. My stepdad had a gold mine and got some good gold he also did gold nugget jewelry. He told me one time he flew his piper cub to a gravel bar on a river and paned for gold he said he found lots. Ive always wondered where that was. Lol
