"Meet The Crotoonians" is an exciting companion series to "The Railways of Crotoonia" web series, introducing the ragtag cast of Crotoonia to unfamiliar audiences through a day in their lives. But their lives are never a dull moment, and each two/three-minute episode is full of adventure and surprises! From the steam engines to the mermaids, these are the ones who call Crotoonia home!

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Welcome to the first of a few Meet the Crotoonians we're dropping this Fall! And what better way to do so than rounding off Team Trainee?
Well, with the help I got for this one, it truly was a TEAM effort!
For a start, I handed the reigns of the script to my good friend ‪@DukeOfBenreBay‬ who proceeded to pop out an AMAZING script for this story. Their impeccable talent with characters, comedy, and worldbuilding shined through with our initial story discussions and an absolutely HILARIOUS script! With a combination of a really fun lead character, the rescue center allowing for big rescues, and playing up the comedy of one of the dumbest sentences in Thomas history, the sparks lead to one of our funniest stories yet.
While the script sat for a bit as we gathered our talented voice cast (including ‪@steamoddity110‬ taking on the role of Wilson himself), we eventually got the help of one of our newest animators ‪@thet00nedl00n‬ to lead the animation on this short! He's worked on both some recent Timbits and a couple fun scenes in Katy the Loose Caboose, but this was more or less his first full production for Crotoonia...and he knocked it out in the park! Their comic and truly TOONy style went with the script and stellar voices like Peanut Butter and Bert Raccoon, and a total joy to clean up and add my own little bits and bobs throughout!

I like that Thomas and Wilson got to interact with each other, I also like how Tracy is freaking out that Thomas’s firebox is literally on fire and Thomas is just like “meh, I’ve been through much worse” I think this also might be a gag from the Miller era episode fiery Flynn where Thomas’s firebox was on fire, but that’s what I thought of when I heard that

Really like how even Wilson is in disbelief at Thomas's predicament; even by Chuggington's standards a "firebox on fire emergency" is just absurd. And Wilson's brainstorming regarding the fire, lovely way to show that he's come a long way from when he completely idolized the older engines. That and his voice actor do a grand job showing that he's matured and grown into his job. Also, don't think I didn't spot that small Foduck the Vigilant cameo there!
