Rick Carpiniello once spoke to Kevin Lowe about the psychology a player deals with when adversity inevitably revelas itself during a playoff series and his answer was surprising. Lowe eluded to the fact that players deal with setbacks differently depending on the psyche of the individual but collectively usually move on from a negative performance and deal with the situations that present themselves on a game by game, situation by situation basis. That momentum is overrated as a factor, certainly a decisive factor. Ranger fans should take Lowe's statement, albeit made during the '94 Eastern Conference Final, as an important component going into tomorrow night's game. We ain't dead yet!

Marc. Your analysis argument about Craig Berube is exactly the reason why Ideal Situation is The Toronto Maple Leafs. They targeted him all season long just because he’s that good. Sad. You don’t see players targeting Makar or Hughes the way they do Fox. Fox is clearly a level above the rest which is why they have to stoop so low. Even in the beginning of the season. Fox is a terror to play against. Corny bastards. Play the game. They can’t because they know that Fox will outsmart them and beat them so they try to injure them.

Panarin Trocheck and Krieder have been MIA the last 2 games and we still Almost somehow won. If our stars show up tonight it’s Rangers in 6 no doubt.

It’s going to come down to Zibanejad/Trocheck/ and Fox because Panarin is instantly triple teamed the second he touches the puck. They need Zibanejad and Trocheck to be the stars today. Krieder also needs to step up today. Would really be a huge boost/lift if Fox gets us on the board early. LGR it’s not over yet. We can put them away today. They can’t put us away today. Big difference. Take them out today. Don’t let them even sniff the idea of winning today.

The Rangers/Canes series is beginning to look like the Rangers last two playoff seasons. Up 2-0 (3-0 this year!) and then lose energy and heart. I hope this year is wrong, but the last game proved otherwise. By the way, Trouba has to go no matter what happens this year.

I thought the new coaching staff had solved this core's problems in the effort/heart department, but game 5 disabused everyone of that notion. Teams that takes the night off in an elimination game on home ice, as the Rangers did in game 5, do not win Cups. I just hope they can avoid the ignominy of the reverse sweep, but I'm not optimistic.
