Yes, I have been listening to music since the 50's, Aurora is my all time favorite ARTIST. She is authentic, unique and wonderfully weird, wise beyond her years and a lyrical genius with beautiful vocals. She never had any voice lessons, she had dance lessons for 10 years, she is self taught singing and playing the piano. The song Warrior is the fan base anthem, it is really awesome in concert when the crowd sings Warrior with her. You should definitely check out another live performance of Warrior, there are many to choose from. Thanks so much for doing this again for us, it is appreciated, I know it is time consuming for you. See you on part 2.

If it's not too late for the rest, the version of this on the Fabrice channel has much better subtitles, and even includes a little bit of extra footage. That's the one the diehards always recommend, but it rarely gets used, because it doesn't have the views yet to push it up where it's noticed in searches.

There are many very different live versions of Warrior 'out there'. One fun version (and very different from this one) is the live in Paris 2018 - version. (Amateur audience recording, but still pretty good technical quality - and 'full speed' on the stage).

I agree with you about realizing just how small we are. I think about it a lot. I feel small when I see the mountains and canyons in the western US. Utah, Colorado, California, Nevada, Arizona...It's quite humbling. I also live in the Great Lakes state. When you look at Lake Michigan, it seems endless. But when you look at a map, they are nothing compared to the ocean. It really makes you think. Also, this performance of Warrior is my favorite, and there is no way I could have kept my composure as well as those two girls did. Even Christine (the host) sheds a couple of tears. I also want to mention, the studio versions of the songs are very important to listen to. They are Aurora's original and final interpretation of the song. Many of the studio recordings are much different from her live versions so don't miss out. The live performances are (obviously) a huge bonus.

I love the nuances of their reactions. They were obviously trying to keep it together. The girl in green almost lost it a couple times, and I like when Christine put her arm around her at that one point, when Aurora was getting very intimate with them near the end of the song. And the last part of the song, the girl in white was looking down, presumably because she was afraid of losing it if she kept looking at Aurora.

Good analogy, "Hippy". Thats a good way to describe her personality But I'd go as far to say she is a modern day Norwegian hippy. Your getting to know her😊. The more you know the more you'll like her. You'll start to understand that a big theme of her personality is that she doesn't care what people think & she is just her. Most of us fans all wish we could be like her.

I think it's vitally important to spend time completely alone....in direct relationship with the vast power of the universe. Certain landscapes can do that....the night sky certainly. The ocean. The desert. Music. A big one for me is taking a fairly large amount of psilocybin....and laying down with my eyes closed in dark silence. It's a direct confrontation with an inner space every bit as infinite and ineffable as outer space. Directly apprehending something so huge and powerful and ancient and vast that it's hard to even fathom....is important. Humbling and healing on many levels.

Thank you for reacting to this, Will- it’s a wonderful documentary and the concert ahead is spectacular. One of the best live performances of “Warrior” that is much closer to the original album version is with her full band “Live at the Honda Stage” from 2016. Unfortunately, the link to this individual song from this concert is currently blocked, but you can find it in the full concert video (at 17:15). kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXKnfKmdib6doJY. By the way, Aurora has said many times (in lyrics and in interviews) that we are all such a small part of the universe (“an atom and a star”) and that it helps remind her not to get stuck in the small problems of life so much. For me, almost every time I return home at night from my studio, I take a look up at the sky and always get that same feeling of awe and a sense of insignificance in the face of the incomprehensible expanse over my head. And with that thought, I look forward to the next installment!

You gotta give yourself generous space to be playful with lyrics and melodies, to come up with stuff like Ren and Aurora do. (I mean, obviously, they HAVE IT, too, lol... if I gave myself an entire of lifetime to be playful with a song I wrote, it still wouldn't come out to be a sliver of what the chorus of Warrior is, lol)

The fact the big record labels are STILL playing whack-a-mole with reaction videos is genuinely baffling to me. Do they seriously think people play reaction videos in lieu of streaming the actual music?? People like reaction videos to a) celebrate an artist they love/connect with others like them, and b) discover new artists. I do not think Ren would be nearly as massive as he is...if it weren't for the YT reaction community. These record labels are literally trying to shut down free marketing of their artists...because they fundamentally don't _understand_ what reaction videos are or what utility they serve for people. You'd think they'd have learned their lesson after shutting down Napster...and then being blindsided by Spotify swooping in to take the next logical step. Record labels are sowing their own demise and don't even seem to realize it. 🙄

It's so dumb. It's free advertising. Better than free, because they get paid for the ads that air. Music executives have never been able to get out of their own way, because of greed.

@Einyen10 ай бұрын
Great reaction, sorry that you had to do it twice. Maybe you should just have a phone or something lying next to you recording poor quality backup audio just in case? Just a suggestion, I'm not creating live YT videos, so I don't know if that is feasible and/or practical, and maybe it is just a super rare occurance. Aurora and Christine are friends, Christine hosted a radio show for almost 10 years, where Aurora visited many times from 2014 to 2020 when the show ended. The first time she was only 17 only 2 months after being "discovered" though Christine had been following her for almost a year then already. But here Christine is also the host of this TV show not just her friend, and this is not a show only for Aurora. There were a total of 11 episodes over 2 seasons with 11 Norwegian artists doing this TV show, Aurora was actually the 2nd to do it, or the 2nd episode that aired at least, her episode was recorded June 25th 2019. I'm not sure if all of the artists travelled around in the same van, I have only seems glimpses from other episodes, but they are all available on the NRK site, season 1 without VPN, while season 2 requires Norwegian VPN for some reason. The studio version of Warrior is much more powerful than this soft version with powerful percussion, there is a live version that is closed to the studio version on her main channel called Stripped Vevo UK Lift. It is not actually Stripped, but it is from the same session as the acappella song you reacted to, so it is mislabeled. But you should also listen to the studio version either privately or in the same reaction, it is also on her main YT channel. There is also a beautiful live acoustic version called Red Bull Session with just Odd Martin on guitar, the same guy as in Murder Song at Nobel. Aurora is great at doing performances with very little preparation like this Warrior in HAIK. She has done a lot of great cover songs, something like 30+ covers, and several were done on the radio station NRK P3 with Christine and those that took over after her, and on that show they give the artists a short time to make a cover while at the station to a song they choose from a list when they arrive, so like maximum 1 hour to prepare, but we don't really know how long. But she does great covers each time often totally changing the songs to her style, and in the "Boney M - Rasputin" cover she did this way, she wrote afterwards in the YT comments, that they only rehearsed for ~15min, and you can see her reading the lyrics during to remember them, but it still sounds great.

crashes through the ceiling 5 months late to answer your question about vastness - i get it with the night sky and the ocean too, but specifically with the ocean it's looking out at the horizon when the water is grey and choppy. space is really what gets me though, the incomprehensible scale of Everything and the awareness that every single person and thing, my own body included, is made of stardust... like, we are all conscious facets of the universe, even if we've forgotten it. we are everything and everything is us, the universe is an organism and we are the building blocks of life.
