When she laughs at the camera it was because she had forgotten to play the piano. She put a snippet of this on instagram afterwards with the text: "I simply cannot decide if I want to play the piano or dance. I simply CANNOT." If you watch her other recent Vevo performance "A Soul With No King" she plays the piano a lot more than this one, though not the full song again, she has to dance 🙂

I think that growl/rasp is an element of her changing voice. And instead of diminishing her singing, it has added depth. I love it.

Auroras guitarist's name is Fredrik Svabo and he often uses MIDI-interface Bass pedals when they play in smaller settings. I don't know the brand though.

Looks like a Keith McMillen 12 step 2, MIDI controller.

Great reaction to this epic performance. This performance is the perfect storm for me, all the different things that make this "one" of my absolute favorite live performances of hers. Another one is at this same live session, Soul With No King, she has a, for lack of a better word, primal scream that is just exquisite to me. Thanks Maria and Will.

This song is from her new album What Happened To The Heart. In my opinion is the most experimental album of hers not only the instrumental but she’s really experimenting with her vocals. She’s magical 💜

Great to see you back with Aurora! Her more mature voice is better than ever, and she seems to be able to do what she wants to do at any time, both low and high registers, and everything in between. She plays with her voice so much on the new album, as it's a crazy diverse album with many different styles. She also seems to use her voice as an instrument more than ever, which I also love. I'm sure you'd also love "A Soul with No King" from the same Vevo session. More crazy good vocals, as well as more keyboard playing.

The little "ooh ooooh oooh" bit where she touches Fredrik's back is a reference to the song The Dark Dresses Lightly from the new album

Love this one, and her mistakes just adds to the magic. Sounds amazing! If I remember correctly Fredrik didn't sing when he started with Aurora, but I remember producer (and ex drummer) Magnus on some tracks. He's harmonizing more now though, and if I'm not mistaken he's also writing some of the songs with her. Amazing musician. Highly recommend "A Soul With No King" as well. Same setting and made the same day I believe. Too bad about the copyright stuff. Her latest video "Starvation" is something else 😊

If you haven't already, check out the other performance she did of another song off her new album. Its called A Soul With No King and it is fire! Like this one, its a stripped down version of the song and its so very good! I prefer it to the album version! I've been listening to it on repeat - I'm hooked! i dont know what exactly the pedal is, but he is playing that bass line with it. likely it is preset to cycle the bass notes. Aurora was supposed to play more synth in this recording but she said she just wanted to dance. it was spontaneous.

Aurora is a good pianist, please react to "AURORA - Exist for Love (Live at the SOS Ole Bull 2020)", in this performance she plays the piano alone and is soooo beautiful song

I've seen other reaction channels put a filter over the original vid and pause it a couple times to avoid copyright trouble, maybe worth a try!

If you want to see Aurora playing piano through a whole song, you can try one of these covers below. Ops, I forgot you saw Life On Mars as well at Nidarosdomen, but the version I recommended on channel NRK is quite different, she is playing an old Fender Rhodes piano.
