My mom got me this album for Christmas 99. I was 8yrs old and this song was the coolest thing ever to me, introduced me to a style I'd never heard as well as Biz and Rick. Best part any Will is that he makes music an 8 year old can bump without sacrificing artistic quality whatsoever. I'm 28 now and bumping this track just as hard as I used to with my discman. Doesn't matter what anyone says, he's one of the GOATs

@GCF by JK Yo! Another ARMY! Anyone here looking for some current hip-hop with a thoughtful, positive message, sick flows and no mumbling, please check out BTS albums with an open mind! You can find tons of videos with subtitles/lyrics on youtube... If you like Will's style you should try songs like Moving On, Ma City, Hip Hop Lover, Whalien 52 and Nevermind to start with. Don't be afraid to try something new!!!

Also a heads-up... if you hear anything that sounds like the n-word in BTS music that's NOT what they're saying! It's the Korean words 'niga' and 'naega' meaning I/me/you ^_^

what are half of you on about? he flopped as a rapper? please, he sold 6+ million albums in US alone nevermind including the rest of the world, Will Smith is Boss.
@georgebritten21119 жыл бұрын
Sales aren't a measure of quality. Generally, will smith was never seen as a propped rapper, more as a commercial rapper. If you look at most genres of music you will find an artist or group that has been financialy successful but is generally considered to be a bit shit.
@oh1life2live9 жыл бұрын
George Britten True, but Will Smith isn't that. Reasons are two: He's just not a rapper. He is a TV star, a movie star, a singing star. Last time, when any tabloids rated him, based on his many 'commitments', they (honestly) figured that Smith didn't give it his all yet when it came to music. Even admittedly, in several interviews, it could be clearly deduced that he was busy having 'fun', instead of 'polishing' the numbers. Fact of the matter is, there are too few like him, who displayed talent on this scale. It overshadows the 'a bit shit' argument.
@georgebritten21119 жыл бұрын
But even without his commitments when he was just a rapper the music quality was roughly the same although I would agree that as an all round star he excels, especially at acting.
@duomaxwell22939 жыл бұрын
Waqas Ali I'd rather listen to Will smith rapping than any of the rest of the rappers these days..

For you kids, just to give you some perspective. This song and style in 1999 was 10 years too late. This style of hip hop was long gone. So this song was never a seller. If it had come out in 1989 it would have done well.

Yeh true, but that was the point it was paying homage that period when rap was just starting to emerge.
@Phoenix-xn3sf5 жыл бұрын
This single was just a promo, never meant to chart; the visual style was throwback 80's, the actual song is pretty much stereotypical 90's eastcoast boombap hiphop, so nothing too late about it.
