Everyone needs to take a deep breath. Smith is 19 years old and Celebrini is 18 years old. We're still building for the future but you can see the top level talent is definitely improved. The trade deadline is going to piss off some people because Grier is definitely trading away someone we'd keep if we were closer to contention but we're not so.....anyone over 30 can get moved. Patience. they're definitely on the right track

Loved the episode and your thoughts on Smith and the prospects! Thanks! :) I really like the way Smith is developing this season. Once again, GMMG's idea of how to develop the Sharks young talent is proving correct. I am in TOTAL agreement with your thoughts on Musty. I watched other podcasters talk as though he should have started his pro career with the Sharks this season. IT would have been a total disaster! He needs, as you stated, a minimum of one to two seasons with the Cuda to get used to playing with professionals where he does not have the size and strength advantage. It was plainly obvious in the preseason games he is not used to not being the biggest and strongest. It showed he needs to work on his physical game (yellow play, etc.), but was his worst area to me was his play in the defensive end. Of the remaining prospects, at the time, his play was the worst among them. I still think he will eventually be a top six winger, but he needs more time to develop than most fans thought he would. Excited to see him with the Cuda next season! That was good news on Dickinson! His fault with making bad decisions with the puck has followed him since his draft year and was the biggest hit against him. Nice to know he is making progress in this area. He has literally everything else you want in a top defenseman. If he can manage to raise his hockey IQ and improve his decision making a bit. Look out! With your take on Haltunnen, I am really excited about that developing as part of his game. When I watched the WJC he looked like he was making a concerted effort to improve in his work along the boards and his passing game. Sounds like it has carried over and he is doing the same in the OHL. I would hazard to guess this was something that GMMG and company asked him to work on before rejoining the Cuda when his season is over. Overall, a lot of positive vibes with the prospects and an excellent report as always JD! :)
