My only argument is that TDS has been around for nearly 5 years, while TDX has only been out for 3 Months and is still in beta, TDS had more opportunities to grow, make updates and building a community during those years, while TDX is still building those things.

@@lennymann1382 disagreed, people can enjoy challenging games too. The game isn't hard in my opinion: easy, intermediate and elite mode are as exactly as what the difficulty says. Sorry, but if you think TDX would die because of the challenge it provides, then you'd be horribly wrong.

Trust me tdx is better. You will find alot of the good towers take way too long to get. Some are behind a pay wall due to them being event towers. In tdx paying gives you a minimal advantage but that's only for more exp for winning and does not make your towers better. Please I beg you play tdx not tds.

TDX will not overtake TDS with the way it's going. John is not a good game designer or balancer. Balancer, you probably don't even have to question but game designer, you can look at the gameplay for that, the Christmas event as a best example. There's nothing new to the table, it's the standard experience. The weekly/biweekly updates sound good on paper, but it's mostly just rushed content or one fully flesh out piece of content that will attract new players and then quickly kill any growth it made after a few days. Keeping this up will see a future that TDX just adds content without improving the base experience or changing it in a way that keeps players captivated, so hopefully John does a larger-sized update in the future to improve core gameplay. One counterpoint to add, the TDX x TB collab was cool until all the skins turned out to just inherit TB's old 2017 quality (in terms of animation and design) and put a paywall behind it basically barring most people from ever getting this content. The only skin actually worth the money was the DJ, for obvious reasons. TDX's optimization sounds great on paper but is actually easily done by random people off the internet. I've seen people off GnomeCode and RoDevs do about as good of a job or better than what TDX did, Tower Incursion (unreleased) as a prime example. And on a personal note, those faces man... TDX isn't completely unsalvageable but it's important that John takes the right steps to improve his game ahead of time to ensure a longer future for it. Edit: Oh boy, here comes the horde.

First of all, TDX is in beta, and john has some experience as a game designer, and the balancing without a doubt is better then tds's accelerator problem, second of all, the christmas event was made in 2 weeks and even had a new tower, third of all ,the tower battle skins aren't even that good and it's only cosmetic, so if you really want to you can just buy it, but you can get equally good skins from the crates, and tdx's optimization compared to any other tower defense game or just any roblox game in general is mindblowing, everything in tdx can change, even the faces. I, personally, think the games will have roughly the same playercount, and tdx literally made tds get more updates (imo), also tds doesnt have naval towers

@@recruit6311tds is whooping tdx’s butt in player count. Even when it gets out of beta. And once then even if the player count of Tdx goes up there is a lot of unreleased thing that tds is still planning to release and since tds has a bigger fanbase it’s likely that tds will just steal Tdx players.

@@OddOof dont think tds will steal tdx's playercount. it'll probably stay consistent untill tds releases a bad/or unfinished update. (Tds s 2023 halloween event as an example)

John stated that he purposely didn't do that much for the Christmas event as the game is still in beta and he wants to focus on core updates and have the event on the side. He also released the game recently and it needs time to find its fan base this ties to player count dropping, just because it had more players on release doesn't mean its because of lack of content or updates. If you love a genre and a new competitor to your favourite game comes out of course you would try it out, so more people from those other games will play the new one, some will like it, some will not. And lets be honest at least we are not forced into using a single tower that takes hours and hours to get for everything. In tdx you can use all towers effectively there are non without a purpose. Even towers like the operator have a use with it teaching you about path troops. Or sniper showing piercing and level requirement towers. Or dj as support towers. There is also strategy to each mode with you needing different towers to counter certain enemies or overcome certain maps. Even early towers are not irrelevant due to this for example shotgunner the second tower your will probably get is usually use on the hardest map (also the shortest) in the game, this is due to its ability to damage multiple enemies in one shot. It is also balanced with the fact it has short range so it has high dps to make up for it. All of this makes it perfect for this map. The faces are not a gameplay issue, people use this as a free card to pull out when complaining. And if it genuinely annoys you enough to discredit the game, grow up. And while the colab skins do cost robux they do not impact gameplay. They dont change anything about how good a tower is. You also are not forced into buying them yet people still complain as if you do need them. And dont act like your skins dont make a tower better or that 25% of nice skins are not only behind a paywall but are RANDOM. In conclusion tdx requires more skill and planning to win modes, we are not forced to use any tower in particular if we want to win (except very early game towers). Tdx is in a healthier state and we have better contact and understanding with the dev team. They are not fuelled by money either. John truly cares about his game and wants it to succeed and have a good community. With it being in beta him and his team are bound to make bad decisions and mistakes but they will learn from that. (also tdx isnt over updated ;) )

Ah, yes i found the exact example of the "high level problem". It is where if a player already has a lot of progress in a game they played where even if there is a better and higher quality version of the same genera, they won't feel like changing over just because they are too attached to the original one and refuse to start over in the newer one. This doesn't apply to everyone tho

While I totally would agree that TDS's development team isn't the greatest in terms of communications and game management, Comparing it to a mobile game seems harsh and biased. And just one more thing, If I were you, wouldn't be really so sure about John not being greedy. Just take a look at the donation options. Normally I wouldn't really give a fuck, donations are donations and the devs don't work for free, but holy shit seriously, you can donate up to 250k robux ? In a front page game? Seems a bit excessive, don't you think?

@@mely5326 I mean... we get bi-weekly updates that add a good amount of stuff to the game. Out of anyone in this comment section I would be qualified to give my opinion. I have get accel and engi in tds played the game religiously through lockdown and I am level 71 in tdx and have 80 hours in it. And remember the 2021/2022 halloween update disaster? (I can't remember which year it was) but that came hella late and I swear it was there till the new year. Gtg can't write anymore for now.
