This is an excellent video, and will help a lot of people. The PLB40 was designed specifically to run the Dometic fridges, many portable power stations are designed for charging devices, and supposedly, only fridges when you are at a certain size. A lot of people are running fridges with smaller PPS's, but by using pass-through technology to run a solar panel and keep the PPS charged. The problem with that is when you are faced with inclement weather. For real world usage, you will pre-cool the fridge with AC home power, and use DC car power while driving to your destination. Once you are there, you will plug-in the PLB40. You will also stock your fridge with pre-cooled food, and not put in room temperature food. In addition, your fridge compressor will work harder as you empty the fridge, so as you go through the weekend, you should restock the fridge as you empty it, only 2-4 tins for example at a time. Yes, the fridge will have to work, but it will work harder if you just empty the fridge, or restock when it has been significantly emptied. Remember to have and use a solar power, one with the rights specifications, and DO NOT use a solar controller, the PLB has one! Do all of this and you will get 3-4 days, maybe more accounting for fridge size considerations. Excellent pointing out how to use the two-pin, many, many buyers have complained that they do not have two 12v plug-ins, because they are unaware of the two-pin 'hidden' configuration and they are not using the supplied cable correctly. If you have a Dometic fridge, use the PLB40.

I’ve never used one of the pbl 40’s but our jackery 500 will keep our cfx3 45 going almost 3 days with minimal opening and closing. The dometic electric coolers are great and will last. Enjoy!

The Dometic CFX3 coolers are great. I have the 55im and a couple PLB 40s. The two pin is for a more secure connection to the battery as it screws on. Not every device has a two pin connection so that is why they have the regular 12 volt socket too.

Can you charge a fridge from the 2 pin socket and a laptop or rice cooker from the DC socket simultaneously or will that blow a fuse?
@GeorgeAlfred57773 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, just wondering how far did you run the battery down? Ive seen some online talking about running it flat and then recharging and others say that to only discharge 80% of the battery. Also how many litres is your fridge? Great test and review mate cheers just got myself a PLB40
@GeorgeAlfred57773 жыл бұрын
My bad just realised ya ran it down to 17% cheers
