Hey, cool review, I saw that in your test you made a sound comparison between the sanwa and Haute42 buttons, however it's difficult to know which one is louder in video. The buttons on the haute42 seem a lot quieter, can you confirm? This interests me, because I completely stopped using the arcade stick because of the noise after many years :( thanks

What’s up man! Thank you for watching. So Sanwa buttons are much much louder compared to the Haute42 stock buttons. The Sanwa micro switches and with the obs buttons give a lot of “clack”. I believe arcade buttons with microswitches will give you a better experience in terms of “sound” and “feel”. Beyond the microswitches there are other factors that will determine the sound and feel of the arcade button e.g. button material, microswitch types, even where they are being housed (like type of arcade stick). So generally speaking you have a few options to reduce sound in your arcade stick. They have foam padding inserts for sanwa buttons that can “silence” your buttons but the major drawback is this spongy feeling. I prefer the “feel” and “sound” of arcade buttons that use a microswitch because you can just swap out the microswitch and get a different experience. That was a lot lol, but I hope it was clear let me know if you have any other questions I’d be happy to share my experience. Thanks again for watching!

@@SupraSayianOfficial This is a lot of information but a lot of very good information thank you. I forgot to specify that I mainly stopped the arcade stick for the stick and not necessarily for the sanwa buttons. I miss charge characters and used a dualsense is not ideal for that x), so I ordered a high42. Thank a lot !

Try adding o-rings to the switch. Might reduce the loudness.
@SupraSayianOfficial
@SupraSayianOfficial 8 ай бұрын
Ya the o rings might help but it’s going to give a spongier bottom out. I tried o rings before on a keyboard and I didn’t like the feel of it. Still worth a try

@@SupraSayianOfficial Do you find the larger 30 mm buttons bothersome? Would you change them to 24 mm from PW?
@SupraSayianOfficial
@SupraSayianOfficial 8 ай бұрын
I like the 30 mm layout personally so it’s kind of tough cuz I’m biased lol. I actually use my Madcatz hitbox a lot and it’s all 30 mm buttons. If you are used to playing on 24 mm then it might take some getting used to but the layout is pretty compact so I think the difference will be minimal.

Hey, just here to correct your terminology. The switches in your Haute42 are not microswitches. They're low profile keyboard switches. Microswitches are what are in the start/select/menu/l3/r3 buttons along the top. Or the clicks in your mouse. hope this helps.
@SupraSayianOfficial

I thought the keyboard switches are called microswitches? Like linears, tactile, clicky those are all different types of microswitches (entire house, with stem and all that). Are they just called switches? Lol if so, then I didn’t know that lol

nice review man, would you say this is a good box for big hands? I work in labor and my hands aren't dexterous on the best of days so I'm looking for a box that won't make my hand cramp
@SupraSayianOfficial
@SupraSayianOfficial 9 ай бұрын
Hmm that’s kind of tough… so it helps that the buttons are 30mm, you’d more likely want a 30mm button setup vs a 24mm. But I like a bit more space personally when comparing the Haute42 to my hitbox. My hitbox is pretty spaced out cuz I like my hand open and I use my thumb and index finger to throw (light kick+light punch). Since I like to throw with my thumb, it felt a little weird when playing on the haute42. You can get used to it, but to me it felt a bit compact. There are some benefits to the compact button layout because if you use your index, middle and ring finger to hit the lower row (kicks) you should in “theory” hit the buttons faster on the haute42 buttons. It has its pros and cons I want to test how i feel playing on both for like an hour or something. Hard to tell cuz I’m not familiar with your hand lol… the best thing is to try to get your hands on one and test drive it. Not sure if that helped but hopefully this information provided some use to you.

I loved this video, not only clear, but also very interesting cause of a lot of personal knowledge and experience. I'm a keyboard t7/t8 PC player and looking at this thing to play with people at some local tournaments (that I'm yet to find). So for now, my call is that thing, silent switches and a cheap wingman. :)

Sorry, I've continued the thread instead of starting a new one. Can I ask you a question? Did I get it right that for the T16, I won't be able to use the silent switches you used for your modded controller? I really enjoyed their silent feedback.
@SupraSayianOfficial
@SupraSayianOfficial 9 ай бұрын
Yes that’s correct. So normal sized micro switches don’t work in the T16. But I’m in the Haute42 discord and they said there’s 1 more micro switch that claims to be silent it’s the Lofree micro switches. They are low profile “silent”. I have yet to test it but it’s an all black housing so it kind of dilutes the LED feature from your pcb. Personally, I’d be looking for a low profile switch with a translucent housing that’s silent. I haven’t found that quite yet. However I’m sure you can make a Frankenstein switch of some sort. I had an idea to take the Lofree Microswitch bottom housing, maybe their spring too and swap out the top housing with the Kailh Choc V2 top housing. But now we’re getting into the rabbit hole lol… However sorry for the long comment, I heard Haute has other controllers that do take normal microswitches but it leaves the buttons kind of raised up (kind of the drawback is flexibility in micro switches but the button profile is set much higher on the other controller). I don’t own the other controller so I have no idea.

This may be the one for you. It’s relatively in expensive when comparing the Kitsune or the Vitrix (which I have yet to try so I don’t know how those feel). Just know that the less expensive you go the controllers tend to be a bit smaller and lower in weight. I’m used to a full arcade stick in my lap so putting the Haute42 T16 in my lap I don’t know doesn’t feel the same lol… i mean I doesn’t move really but since it’s a lot lighter it doesn’t feel as “immovable” as my Madcat TE2. With bigger housing controllers you tend to feel like once you place it in your lap it isn’t going anywhere. The Haute42 T16 doesn’t necessarily give me that feeling.

You were legit until I heard "haDOOken". Jk, I'm not savvy with electronics or modifying sticks, but I did pick up the T16, after already owning a Fightbox. I wanted to get more into leverless, and I need the additional bottom left thumb for SF6 (I set it as a second Down input). But so far I've only been learning Tekken 8. Anyways, helpful video since I do probably want to change the button tops and switches. Thanks broseph.

@@Vespyr_oh you mean like a goofy layout. (I used to skate so don’t know how else to describe it). Where the directionals (traditionally on left) are on the right side? Is that what you mean about the controller being unique?
@Vespyr_
@Vespyr_ 8 ай бұрын
@@SupraSayianOfficial Yeah, some people like to use their right hand for directionals. Because the arrows on a keyboard are on the right side, some people input arrows on their right hand, even the keypad has arrows, and they type on their left for buttons. But hitbox assumed people would prefer the WASD of FPS games.
