Hello, Ed. I recently quit my job (32 y/o) and attempted soloing the TransAmerica Trail in the US on a Honda Trail 125 (Aug-Sep '22). I did this mostly because of the vids you make and loved the idea of doing an adventure on a small bike. You were a heavy inspiration in this. Unfortunately I crashed 2200 miles and 9 states in, and now the bike is heavily damaged and inoperable. I am fine, but the trip was forced to end after 15 days. I will attempt next year. Thank you truly from the bottom of my heart for all you do. You got me to live the dream for a brief moment!
@Agustin-jo8mv2 жыл бұрын
Dang man! I bet you could've fixed it, or bought a replacement. I would be willing to find parts near by if still necessary. I believe there are a few 90a around for parts, but obviously that is difficult to communicate everything.

To get 2200 miles on your first attempt is a huge achievement. Only the most lucky get it right first time. You'll have learnt a ton, can prepare better, and you'll get it next time. Best of luck mate.

Hi Ed. My 2 friends and I quit our jobs, bought motorcycles, and rode over 7000 miles from Colorado to Colombia all because your videos inspired us to get out and see a part of the world that so many people tend to write off as too unsafe. We had the time of our lives and i just want to say thank you for being you. Because your stupidity is contagious, our next trip involves riding Honda groms to the Sturgis Rally in 2023. And thanks for continuing to make videos. They have more impact than you may know.

The trip to the hydraulic place brought back memories. I once bought a '74 Volvo. It had an early form of fuel injection, and had these long high pressure plastic tubes running from the fuel distributor to the actual injectors. They were 40 years old and cracked, and started periodically misting the engine in gasoline. I called around looking unsuccessfully for new old stock. I can't remember why, but out of desperation I walked into a hydraulic shop down the street from my house, and got brand new, hand made replacements for like $80 that afternoon. This random tractor repair shop was 1000x more helpful than any actual Volvo shop I talked to.
