why don't the companies come out and announce they are not going to hire or at least they can disclose the number of people they are going to hire , instead of ghosting the candidates . This will make the candidates to plan for other things instead of wasting time on this field. Also it will give a clear signal for the college students too, or a freshman entering to college .

One year ago, I enrolled in their full stack course program, which promised a guaranteed placement. I took the course on a 24-month EMI plan, costing over 2.2 lakh rupees plus interest. The teachers weren't very good, and the curriculum covered useless topics, often extending the course duration. Despite this, I completed all their assignments. When companies started coming, I never got calls for interviews, even after meeting their criteria. Most of the companies were small startups with 10-50 employees. You can do much better by learning from KZbin courses.

Now you would think, might be they are providing good resources and study material, in this case it is 50-50, if you choose backed, they won't teach you basic and will not provide good material also, just some projects and finish but their DSA and OOPs materials are really good. I will strongly suggest you that youtube is the heaven for learning everything. Lld and hld series is also not complete, just they are teaching example, not the basic design patterns(i think they should focus on teaching first pattern then example). Now every month 6.5k when it is debited from my account without any benefits, it hurts a lot.

Software engineering has changed a lot after covid time. Initially before covid, most of the people were in the range of 3-7. When covid pickup, everyone got placed. Even if the dog could had barked in c+++/java at that time, he could have got 10 lpa. That time was the best. Extremely low iq candidates got selected. Companies were paying like ki applicants bhandara mein aye hon. After 2022 everything changed. Ai hype came. Obviously many jobs will going to be obsolete. But the covid era hiring will never come. Also, the hiring will reduce significantly. Factors like gender diversity, jaan pehchaan waali cheezein rhengi. And the only sufferer are middle class boys. I dont know where we are heading towards. But the future will be very brutal for boys.

I 100% agree to what you said. I am also someone who spent three years building a company. Infact I had my own private limited too. During my entire graduation tenure I focused on building the company rather than getting a job. But unfortunately it didn’t work out. The mistake that I made was instead of building the products by myself I hired developers to do it for me. (Of course my lazy self wouldn’t choose that path.) And I kept loosing them one after another as soon as they started getting better opportunities. As soon as I realised that I learnt about the tech myself and built the final product. But it has been too late by then. All my teammates left. I couldn’t manage it all by myself. Cause I was doing a full time. I was enrolled into a bachelors program and was running a company. Eventually I decided to shut down the company and decided to up-skill myself. I lost close to 4 lacs. But yeah, the time that I spent learning about tech while building my final product made me skilled enough to land a job as a full time software engineer. I have a distribution of 2 million people. I have access to the finest developers. Now, why I said it’s high time to generate opportunities because if you genuinely spend your time building something. You learn and grow a lot more than merely preparing to land a job.

It will be a good solution if the people who are at higher positions in the company should conduct meetings, should talk internally regarding such issues so that if they are hiring then it should be fair enough else they should totally stop hiring . Bitter pill to swallow, but at least this man is not afraid of uttering facts, be a good engineer, opportunities will come.
@devanshverma80503 ай бұрын
I will entirely disagree on that part, where u said it's similar to 2016-2019 phase , cuz at that time also at that time placements were really good also the most important thing at that time was that the company didn't expect the freshers to be having knowledge of mid- senior level developer , ik the resources are there but they the resources only increased majorly in dsa and if we consider web development then in that also , but still learning from resources isn't enough, someone just developing a project from a tutorial worths almost nothing cuz the actual learning will only be there when the freshers will be trained within the industry but the thing is no company wanna train they just wanna hire who already have all the knowledge. The market has become the casino where freshers need to gamble their luck.

Crux of the matter is that software engineering is not a high paying career path in India. What we experienced around 2022 was a bubble.
@InternetUser733 ай бұрын
Software engineering remains a high-paying career in India and was even so before 2022. Companies are still hiring, and decent companies (PAYU, MMT) are offering base salaries of 20+ LPA BASE to senior developers. FANG-level companies(Intuit etc) are offering 25+ LPA to senior developers. While the number of hiring has returned to pre-2022 levels, earning 20-30 LPA as a senior developer with 3+ years of experience is still significant. From my perspective, 30 LPA as base pay is a substantial amount, especially for someone with less than five years in their career.
