As always, great video! Super informative. You'll enjoy making new parts even more now. It looks like a decent machine to get started. I've seen you already thought about the gas coverage on the second clip. That's definitely very important and probably takes a bit of practice getting used to with that type of machine. It's a good practice to no only keep the weld covered for a few seconds but also the tungsten electrodes and the filler rod. How are you sharpening your tungsten electrodes by the way? Did you 3D print that part? Enjoy your new welder and don't get discouraged by the initial practice it takes. It's well worth learning TIG for building the raddest savage :D

Thank you very much! So much to keep track of at the same time, but I try to remember the gas coverage. I think it's even harder to remember with this setup since I have to "flick off" the arc, there's no button to kill it. I'm still sharpening on my bench grinder. I have ordered small grinding wheels for my Dremel and I'm planing on printing some kind of contraption for it. But the bench grinder works surprisingly well actually. Even though I'm still terrible at it I already feel what an asset this will be. I already have a list of things I would like to make! 🔥

@@HeavyMetalParkingSpot nice, I'm looking forward to all the parts you're gonna build with it. When using the bench grinder to sharpen the tungsten electrodes I find it very handy to use a cordless drill on the lowest setting to rotate them (you might already do that).

Once you master the basics on the tig your going to be able to do some nice neat welds . Enjoy playing Brother

You cannot run mig with pure argon. Mig needs some amount of reactive gas. The wire you are using is an ER70S-6, you need to run either 75/25 argon/c02, or 100% c02.

None taken! They did! I feel like I see many smaller channels reviewing stuff from Vevor (bigger as well of course), it might be part of their marketing strategy. I think it’s really cool, even though they are not a high-end brand, most of their stuff is good enough for us hobbyists. And getting that stuff in the hands of smaller creators I think enables them to make things they otherwise couldn’t. Sorry for the long reply and the Vevor chill, I’m not THAT passionated about that company. 😅

I just got my VEVOR MIG250 and it looks nothing like this one in the review video. I don't see mine on any KZbin reviews. My MIG250 has SMAW (stick), Lift arc TIG, and MIG or FCAW. It came supplied only for MIG, no stinger or torch. Price naked like that was $204 shipped and taxed. It has one knob and two displays for current and wire speed. I have not figured out the wire speed (SAE or Metric) so there's that experiment yet to do.

Using the provided welding glasses is a mistake someone only makes once..... My very first welding experience was with glasses similar to that.. spent a few hours welding that evening, not knowing the stupid amounts of UV that comes off a welding arc. Got up the next morning, rubbed my face and almost yeeted myself off the balcony. It felt like I literally just rubbed my face off my skull. Only after seeing my incredibly burnt face in the mirror did I find out about the UV..... so for any newbies here: for the love of everything that is skin related, please buy a proper auto-shutter welding helmet!

Oh shit! Thanks for sharing that story! A really important reminder to use proper safety equipment. Actually kind of pisses me off that they send crap like that out to beginners who doesn't know better. Would be better to send nothing and encourage the user to get something proper.

Only buy from this "company" something that you can easily throw away afterwards. Because they refuse to tell me where to return the defective product after 2 weeks. Send me a video of the error - I sent it. To this again and again - Send me a video of the error, I reply that I sent it - and so I cannot return the defective machine. I am not sure why on MIG mode, you adjust Amperage with the WIRE SPEED button. Perhaps you use Inches per minute instead of mm and even so you are short of the specs. There is no visible change on the speed of the wire motor. That's weird.
@HeavyMetalParkingSpot25 күн бұрын
First of all, I'm far from an expert on welding, I'm sure someone that is could chime in here. But it seems like wire speed and amperage is supposed to be related. And, I'm not sure the wire speed has a unit on these machines? Isn't it just a random number?
