In year 3 I was walking to the local supermarket and I saw Oscar, deviously waiting for his next prey. I just went to go grab some crisps, but when I came out Oscar smacked me across my face and called me a loser. I was just trying to tell him how good is managing was, but I guess he doesn’t think that he has supporters. I ran home as fast as I could, but he chased after me. He then shoved me onto railroad tracks, trying to make a train hit me. Luckily, I got out of the way before an oncoming train came. It absolutely disgusts me how Oscar has no shame bullying a year 3 at the time.

I saw Oscar at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Reading a fairy tale?” Oliver looked up, his cheeks flushing slightly. “It’s not a fairy tale, Oscar. It’s a story about space exploration.” Oscar snorted, his face contorted into a sneer. “Space exploration, eh? Sounds a bit daft to me. You’re always with your nose in those boring books. Why don’t you come and play football with us? Oh, wait-I forgot. You’d probably just get in the way.” Oliver’s gaze fell back to his book, but Oscar wasn’t finished. He grabbed the corner of the book and yanked it out of Oliver’s hands, holding it aloft with a smirk. “Hey, give that back!” Oliver said, reaching for the book, but Oscar kept it just out of reach. At that moment, Mrs. Thompson, the Year 5 teacher, happened to be walking by. She had witnessed the entire exchange from a distance and wasn’t pleased with what she saw. Stepping up, she cleared her throat, and both boys turned to face her. “Oscar, what’s this about?” Mrs. Thompson asked, her voice firm but calm. Oscar shifted uncomfortably, trying to put on a nonchalant face. “Just having a bit of fun, miss.” Mrs. Thompson raised an eyebrow. “Is that so? Well, I’m not sure Oliver thinks it’s very fun. And as for you, Oscar, this sort of behaviour is unacceptable. How would you feel if someone were to treat you the same way?” Oscar’s bravado faltered. He knew deep down that Mrs. Thompson was right. He’d never really thought about it from that perspective. With a grumble, he handed the book back to Oliver. “I’m sorry, Oliver,” he muttered, not quite meeting the other boy’s eyes. “I didn’t mean to be a prat.” Oliver took the book, a bit taken aback by the apology. “It’s alright,” he replied quietly. Mrs. Thompson nodded approvingly. “Good. Now, Oscar, I think it might be a good idea for you to join Oliver for a bit of quiet reading time. Perhaps you’ll find that a good book isn’t so daft after all.” Oscar hesitated, but he knew better than to argue with Mrs. Thompson. He sat down beside Oliver, who eyed him warily. To his surprise, as he glanced over Oliver’s shoulder at the book, he found himself intrigued by the colourful illustrations and exciting descriptions. As the weeks went by, Oscar began to develop a newfound appreciation for reading. It wasn’t long before he was joining Oliver for reading sessions, and the two boys formed an unlikely friendship. Oscar learned that there was more to life than being the class bully, and Oliver discovered that sometimes, even the most unexpected companions could turn into friends. And so, in the end, both boys found that a little kindness could go a long way, transforming their playground into a much more pleasant place for everyone. (a few years later, we found out that oscar had 200 pumped the teacher, and the police are still looking for him in my town)
