I owned both. Just sold PCX as the Zuma is FAR superior. The Zuma is built better and has substantial, solid feel. The seating is a bit tight but other than that it’s terrific. The PCX although it has a slightly higher displacement somehow seems LESS powerful than the Zuma. Also, the PCX’s suspension is atrocious. Long story short, if you are deciding between the two, buy the Zuma and thank me later.

That's because Yamaha zuma has the variable valve actuation, the honda doesn't, and that makes a big difference, if honda would do that on the 160cc it would be very fast, but Yamaha is definitely taking the lead in this segment

I bought a 2020 Yamaha BWS 125 (ZUMA) as my first ever experience with a scooter during the first year of covid, and absolutely loved it. That flat footwell and the quick, nimble handling of those 12 inch wheels was out of this world compared to all of the motorcycles that I have owned...so much fun. Wanting a little bit more speed as well as sustained speed for small hills on back road trips, I bought a low mileage 900kms (550 miles) 2018 PCX150 two years later. The PCX is a great scoot...admittedly it didnèt put a smile on my face quite like the ZUMA though. I too found the handlebar a little too close, so I installed a bar riser that I had left over from my NC750X, raising it and pushing it forward 3/4 inch in each direction and found the position perfect...you should try it. I have since moved up to a Forza 300 so that i can do the bigger highways in comfort, but I can see myself grabbing another ZUMA at some point for the smiles. Be safe and enjoy the ride.

I own a 2023 Zuma and love it. One correction, I don't believe the Zuma has ABS, though the front and rear brakes are tied. One of the strong points of the Zuma is the flat floor that increases its carrying capacity considerably. Sure, I wish it had a larger engine, but it's economical and the VVA is kinda fun when it kicks in at 6k rpm.

I’ve mostly had Yamaha scooters and they are great scooter. Currently I have an older Yamaha 2009 Zuma 125 and I love it. When I bought with only 1,500 miles the previous owner upgraded to the dial headlight, but kept draining the battery. So now that I changed it back to stick, everything is working as it should. Had a few Hondas also and they’re great also.

Also, the Pcx doesn’t have the floorboard and it’s helpful to have one to carry stuff.

I bought my first ride in 1987: a new leftover 1984 Yamaha Riva 180 scooter. paid $1350. - had it till 2001 when I traded it in for $1300. for my first motorcycle, a new Suzuki GZ250.

it was great. my 1st bike - I was just learning so it was perfect. it started my two wheel addiction. automatic, with hand lever for front brake and foot pedal on left side of floor boards for back brake. I'll send you a picture if you have a public email.

How was the break in period? Based on the manual it seems like you have to ride it dangerously slow 😅

The Zuma is also air cooled vs. the pcx being water cooled. I’ve had a few smax scooters which are the same basic underpinnings of the updated Zuma. The smax was actually really fast. I saw over 70 on that frequently. I’ve never owned a Zuma.
@motardsquid7 ай бұрын
I've been curious about the smax. It looks very similar to the pcx.
@forrysc7 ай бұрын
@@motardsquid to me, both the Zuma and smax are cramped. It feels like the deck height is really high and my knees are close to the hand controls. The motor on the smax is hard to beat. It’s much less efficient though. Honda has fuel economy won.

@@elsina79 I stand corrected. I see it is!

@@forrysc I felt that too on the zuma already. My knees are sligthly higher than my hips which i dont like. The zuma seems much more unstable as well. Did you find that with the 12 inch wheels?

does it feel faster than the elite 110 ? whats your best top speed on the zuma ?
@doggybonz29676 ай бұрын
Note: extend your legs on the front flares to ride the Zuma like you’re relaxed sitting with your legs on a futon. Better than a Harley. Mine goes 67 mph and comfortably at 60mph. Over sized knobby rear and original front tire adjust tire pressure and it is one nimble machine. It is a TANK will take abuse like no other. The plastic muffler guard is crap need some custom job there.

@@motardsquid I have the 125 and want to upgrade the tires to the biggest and the lights to the brightest, which scooter has the best ride ?
@motardsquid7 ай бұрын
@@tk-lf1ny The elite 110 is definately smoother than the zuma. I've been riding the zuma and its a rough bike. Whatever honda is doing they are making their bikes silky smooth. If you upgrade the tires go massive i might see if i can get darkside tire on.

I think you are right, should have done more research. They sure look like abs brakes in the front.

This scooter does have front ABS. Inside the front brake rotor is a smaller notched rotor that works with the sensor.

@@Drunkoncouch I believe that's the speed sensor ring. There's no ABS on the latest Zuma.
