Will there be a new Enderal? In this video, I'm trying to answer this commonly asked question. As stated in the video, I'm speaking strictly for myself, as one of the project leads/creative directors and the writer of Enderal and Enderal: Forgotten Stories. Hopefully the video can answer why this is a tricky question with several answers.

No fictional media has ever punched me in the gut as hard as Enderal did, and for that, I would say that it is my all-time favorite RPG. As much as I loved the world and the stories and am sad to hear that the copyright claims mean that it is unlikely to ever get a sequel, I'm excited that something in that spirit could exist someday! @@DemokratiedesProletariatsthe old man is probably just a fleshless one, like the MC, who tried to save only his loved one, but instead got trapped in the cycle, forever doomed trying to warn others of it. Now the veiled woman, that's a good question
@BoJittins
@BoJittins 4 ай бұрын
@@luizinmayer (Spoilers) Veiled woman comes to the MC as an emissary. The high ones have no physical form except illusions and emissaries. I'm betting she's a (superior) High One, and that the antagonists are High Ones trying to dethrone her by increasing their numbers. At the end of Nehrim you get a book that tells the entire tail of the MC in Nehrim. It says: "It is the eternal cycle of the worlds. The only purpose of the Shadow God is the deposition of the Gods. This predestination was written long before the people, maybe it even existed before the Creation, maybe the Creation only exists to offer a place, an arena in which the different powers are to take on each other. (...blah blah why did this happen? blah blah speculation? blah....) Maybe we are all just a means of entertainment for a higher power. A game between two powers..." The Veiled Woman created humanity without negative emotion. Because of that, those humans lived for pleasure and fell into despair due to their meaningless lives. She gave them suffering, fear, hatred, and pride. This combated the brief moments of happiness people felt, giving them a reason to pursue happiness. It "gave them hope". This began the cycle, and new beings called the High Ones manifested out of all of those negative emotions humans felt. The Veiled Woman made a mistake, and corrected it. She realized she created the High Ones, and now needs to correct a new mistake. OR, she's just playing a fun game of chess with the High Ones, and we're the pieces. The (bad) High Ones are proud, cause suffering, fear the Numinos combining with the beacon and possibly the Veiled Woman, and clearly hate humans. I doubt they're acting off "instinct". They have a goal, and the Veiled Woman's gonna do what she can to stop it. My one question is this: If Yuslan was a liar, then is his dream flower elixir really "purified"? He hates Tealor, not us, but will stop Tealor from beating the High Ones at all costs in the name of revenge. It would make sense for him to stop us from drinking a form of the elixir that could lead us to defeating the High Ones. I want to settle with the dream flower ending, but the "If this is a dream, I don't ever wanna wake up." dialogue fucks me up so hard....

It would be such a shame to "lose" a team, that has produced such a great piece of work. The lore is so lovingly written, the quests are unique, the music is so breathtaking. All in all, so much love and depth has gone into everything that you can say: Enderal is what our time is missing! The way I see it, Fallout and TES feels more like a white canvas with just some colors and drawings but mostly still blank. And the reason that they made their games so open source is to encourage players/modders to add their own creations into the game while also covering the lack of gameplay the game has. But Enderal, story-wise, is what Bioware should've approached Mass Effect 3 imo.

I always describe games like skyrim like a generic house with some white and Grey walls, a roof that's a bit leaking but at least still standing and your basic inventory like chairs, tables, wardrobes etc. But you had to lay the project off because you couldn't afford the real house because of money problems. And modders are the guys that put some fresh color on the walls, hang up a couple of Paintings, exchange the chimney and get you that super modern kitchen! It's literally their playground to completely restore stuff that was planned and even build all the fancy cool stuff you ever dreamed about and make it your personal dream castle.

If there's a new installment - that would be great and I'd love to buy it, if not - no problem, I wish each of you realize yourselves in something else and be happy, because you deserve it. Again, thank you all for such a wonderful experience, the way you will do well

I just finished Enderal recently and thoroughly enjoyed it although the ending hit hard. This is great timing on this video for me and I'm excited to hear something is not impossible in the future although I understand no time frame can be given. Thanks SureAI!

Thank you for making Nehrim and Enderal. It's a shame there will probably never be a sequel but it ended so well that it's best to stay that way. I loved Gothic 2 and it's great to hear you are working on the remake of Gothic 1. I do think that you have the capacity to create an amazing standalone RPG. I think what we learned from games like Gothic and Witcher is that people love replaying the game making different choices in quests and see how things pan out - please incorporate this concept and your game will be a definite success!

hello people!! Glad to read you on youtube. Let me tell you there are a lot of orphans of your total conversions, that cannot be replaced today (only Gothic II made a pair of very good mods), they are masterpieces in terms of storytelling and of course game worlds are huge, alive, believable and even preferable to ''originals''. My favorite is Nehrim but I've played and enjoyed all the conversions, how to forget Arktwend's main quest or Enderal's immersion and human and philosophical reflections. so, instead of mourning its passing, be happy because you had it.. good luck for the new projects!! if something resembles these adventures we veterans will all be happier..Thank You!!!

I read the web novel first and then bought the hardcover English Edition of the novel when it came out. Although I am German I couldn't wait for the German release when I saw that splendid cover and heard of the appendix and its artworks. Personally Oonai was one of the greatest and most interesting characters I ever experienced in a story. Also I kinda went through a similiar situation like him in my life (although in smaller scale) and I thought he was really relatable in that sense. I liked how grey the whole story was and how you let the readers experience all the different opinions of the characters without forcing them to agree with one. There were so many moments I thought yeah, every side has a valid point here. I was sad when I heard that there was that copyright claim because I loved the world of Vyn since I played Nehrim in 2012 for the first time when I was 11 years old. I was even more sad when I saw that the name of the one that made this claim belongs to one ex member who was one of the faces of the team back then that I still remember. I would hope there is a way for fixing that issue between the parties but I guess you already tried that. It's just sad to imagine that we will not see Vyn anymore. But as a huge Gothic fan I am looking forward to the Gothic Remake and I am eager to see what you did with my beloved Minenkolonie :D. Also I certainly will read any new book you will publish even though they are technically not taking place in Vyn anymore. I mean Dreams was already a seperate canon to the games when the paperback released and I loved it anyway because of its unique style.

Mein größter respekt an euch.

thank you so much for the update! to this day enderal is one of my favourite and most cherished experiences playing a video game, and i still think about it a lot and return to it often. A huge part of that is owed to your work on the game, and I'm beyond excited to read the next twelfth world novel! I'd love to see an independent rpg from you/the sureai team one day, but for now I'll just look forward to the gothic remake. best wishes!!

Hi guys, i just want to tell you - Enderal is one of my favorite games over, so emotional, immersive, authentic. In every end of my playthroughs - i just sit on chair and can do nothing, because of emotional catharsis. And great respect for music, "Cleansing", "Walk Blessed" and "Fleshless" get me chills every time. Thank you!

Hi! I have played skyrim for about 10 years, I have accumulated more than 1600 hours (only counting the ones that steam shows me), I have tired of installing mods, and it is a game that I always come back to play again and again and again, but since the day I discovered enderal, you and all your team have shown me a spectacular quality product, after having played many RPGs I can now say with much affection that enderal is next to his twin brother in my top RPG games I have played and I have enjoyed a lot. I will be waiting with open arms for any videogame you have in mind to produce, I send you a hug from Argentina!

I'm playing enderal for the second time, the first time I wasn't interested in the lore of the game, I just played the main missions, but now I fell in love with the world of enderal, I mainly do side missions, explore the big world and read books. I'm really shocked that such a beautiful game was created by a team of 7 people. Big applause from me. I'm glad that many of you have good careers (because you people deserve it) and I hope that someday you will do a sequel, for example in another continent. That would be interesting. :D

Enderal is special and while there is nothing quite like it, it will always be there for another replay. If there is ever a spiritual successor to Vyn I'll be thrilled to revisit and decode what inspired certain details in the worldbuilding. Also should go without saying but I am delighted to see the original SureAI team find success in the industry and wish all of you the best of luck in your endeavors.

started playing earlier this year. Feels like a disservice to call Enderal a mod. The story is astoundingly unique for an RPG and fantasy experience in general, and whoever you hired to do the bard songs and music knocked it out of the park. I'm 70 hours deep in this thing, and I can definitely see myself getting 100% completion. Your team created a game better than many AAA titles, and then you gave it away for free. Whatever you do next, I'll be there for it.
