Don’t be fooled by low prices now. I checked with a distributor today and found cost to restock 9mm is up close to $10 more in the last day or so. The msrp prices on fmj from companies like magtech, S&B, blazer, and Remington are between $27 and $30. Winchester service grade 45acp was now at $40. Prices you have there are under the new prices for shops…..very bad times are coming for the industry

Those prices aren’t too bad…I was on some sites for personal ammo hunting and found as low as $12.50 shipped when you buy a case. Tell you this…it will be more than $15 for a dealer to buy. Things are changing faster than I thought they could. Bought like 5,000 124gr hst 9mm today. Funny how people always said reloading 9mm was a waste of time…well time proved them wrong

I’ve been hunting my self, last couple weeks I bought 2000 rounds of .380 for a couple new tools I got. And this weekend Saturday I’ll be getting 1000 rounds of 9mm. Got a couple 100 rounds of .223 last week, also stocked up on .380 hydra shok starting to carry PPK as backup just for fun, but beretta 84 in .380 my be carry now and again, but be hard to not have a 9mm at least. I’ll probably keep buying 9mm a case or 2 per month while cheap, and 223/5.56 keep buying 100/200 rounds every now and then. Also want to stock .380 rounds I’m lowest on the least another 1000 or so. Also would like to buy 2,000-5,000 round of 22lr. Want to be prepared to shoot all next year when ammo is impossible to get, between shooting in Maine, all the different wars, and possible WW3 coming I want to have enough for next few years. I bet in next week or month .223/5.56 will be $1 or more a round.

I still have ammo from before the Sandy Hook days and have continuously bought ammo since then. I still have boxes of 223 I bought for $6 at Walmart back in the days. When Xtac greentips started to surpass $10, I stocked up on that. When Tula 7.62 surpassed $5 a box, I loaded up on that. People have to plan ahead and stop wasting ammo at the range also. I dont go to the range and blow 500 rds on paper targets like I used to.

The price of ammo goes by politics and the economy...if we get a pro 2a pres and the economy eats it like many of us expect, ammo could be cheaper than it's been in 15 years... we've gone thru 15 years of expanding debt and everyone has limitless money and reality has been seriously distorted...honestly, i've followed markets and macro economics for a long time and i think there is a better than not chance of seeing things like ammo come back down to say, 2017-2019 levels...covid spending really screwed things up and caused dangerous levels of inflation and distortion, they are gonna keep taking money out of the system for a long, long time, and the more they take out, the more prices will have to fall eventually...how long that takes is anybody's guess mainly because these companies are downsizing and that will keep ammo high, but eventually demand will be crushed and prices will come down and when that happens, then you know they are getting very close to starting up with easier/cheaper debt policy again.... Problem is, when it comes back down everyone is going to be broke. I grew up in the 80's and no one had extra money, i remember making a couple boxes of 30-30 stretch several deer seasons... Anyway, that's my opinion.

Back when i bought a gun id research barrel life then bake in the cost of all that ammo into cost and got it when i purchased a gun.
